Amick doubles down on Bron-PG to LA insinuating that the recent ESPN 2019 recalibration report is smoke screen.

Yeah it seems like he's doing everything he can to try and get out of there by the break. If the chemistry is that f***** up now and over a third of the season left? Wow what a fun locker room and team experience.

I'm on the other side of the argument on this one, but just wanted to follow up with another "source"...

From CyberX on the Rockets forum...

"I was told that this was planted as a story to up the offers for Clarkson+Randle. If teams think the Lakers aren't as desperate, they will up their offers.

Just remember, there's usually an agenda with a team. "Hey, post a story like this and I will get you on the next break"

I remember when the Lakers wanted to draft Randle but were afraid that he may not drop that low... So what did they do? "His foot may need surgery from a previous injury"

    Chess game."

Since this is the Lebron thread, this Cavs stuff is getting ugly fast like take my jersey off into the garbage lose to Boston in the playoffs bad for Lebron.

Yeah some of us were saying the same thing. The timing on this is absolutely an important factor. Two days before the deadline? C'mon. They're trying to get someone to take Deng for one of their youngsters or at least take back only expirings and a pick. Other teams aren't biting.

I don't think it's an empty threat to say we'll stand pat at the deadline, but it's definitely a threat.

    I'm loving the Cavs implosion.

This is the drama I wanted to see from the C Bags, but I guess I'll take the Cavs too lol

I’m enjoying the Cavs struggles immensely. Gilbert suffers, LeBron looks bad, it’s win-win. I mean they lost to the Magic by 18. That even makes me feel a little better about our loss to the Magic. It’s still likely the Cavs are in the finals, but unlike previous seasons I can’t see them hanging with the Warriors at all, they look more done than they ever have. It doesn’t appear part of the narrative this time, they’re just old and bad and seem to not even like eachother.

Interesting. I like the way we're playing right now, man. I hate to get rid of anybody; although, if they bought out Lopez, which is unlikely, I wouldn't mind it to develop Bryant. I doubt they do that, though; they want to win games and Lopez is a legit caliber NBA player that helps us even though he's been underwhelming for the most part this season.

That said, could it be possible that Rob is hearing through "sources" (agents) of the particulars of what LBJ prefers if he indeed his entertaining the thought of playing for Los Angeles? Could it also be possible that he's heard from PG agent that he's "leaning" toward re-signing in OKC? I believe the benfit of having Rob in the GM role is using his resources to tap into what players (agents) are thinking so we can have a viable Plan A.) Plan B.), execute it quickly, and move on if we fail to land star FA's.

Just some questions. If anything, I think Magic and Rob will be much more realistic than Jim and Mitch and more quickly to act...IMO.

    :)

James in an interview tonight said he will not waive his no-trade clause. Said he will stick it out. For this season. :)

Maybe Cavs need another "players only" team meeting...

He's declining, guys; still a great player, but I think his focus (if he comes to the Lakers) has to be a positional change to the 4 full-time, and he probably has to operate from the block a lot more often; free-throw line extended down. IMO.

Declining... maybe so. Still the best player in the NBA.
No problem with signing PG, resigning Jules and Lopez for cheap though ;)

If he weren’t declining, you’d have to think something was fishy. 15 years in the league, played for team USA 3 times, 7 Finals in a row, insane amount of mileage. Still, much as it makes me nauseous to say, 26, 8 and 8 per game on the start of his decline is pretty ridiculous.

The way his results have tailed off this year is alarming. He’s putting up empty stats right now now, but to be near Last in defensive categories after seemingly starting strong and close to averaging a triple double.... it’s buyer beware right now.

He can no longer sustain this level on one side of the ball much less 2 sides. Does his entitled baggage make it worth acquiring him for this team of growing young players? I personally think it’s a terrible fit. Rather have a PG and a plan to fill in the roster around our new closer.

And after all that’s been said, I would still welcome LeBron to the Lakers. It’s not like he’d be signing a 7yr contract. So why all the concern about losing a step? Still would be better than any player on the Lakers. Welcome LeBron.

How many other Cleveland sized markets have rings? He made it as an owner no matter what.
