There better be a ton of Lakers fans at the All Star game chanting his name showering him with love. Show him a preview of his homecoming as a Laker :Signcontract:

I've seen the kid play and his footwork doesn't support that hope and you don't develop that overnight. Abrines is as horrible if not worse. So yup, they badly need a trade.

No one is beating GSW if you think you can go at them toe-to-toe on the offensive end.

You’re right. At this point I don’t think they focus on beating GSW anymore but instead focus on what’s best for them to improve.

They need a SG that can defend and hit the open shot. Courtney Lee would be great for them and maybe they can swing a trade that includes Kyle OQuinn to sure up backup C.

Alternatively, they need someone to put some points up from the bench when the starters are siting. Tyreke or Lou fit the bill.

Either scenario improves them, but they can probably only get one of the two done. With Andre all they had to focus on was getting an offensive 6th man. They had okay 7th, 8th and 9th men in Patterson, Felton and Grant.

So instead of us laying the red carpet for PG and LeBron, Clippers are all of a sudden is a cap space ahead of us? They're also shopping Lou and Deandre. Pretty quick.

Actually if we waive Deng and let go of Randle's BR, we're already ahead of them in terms of cap space. They have a ways to go.

I mean both Deandre and Lou are considered gone already because it wouldn't make sense keeping them after letting go of Blake.

Poor Lou is going to get dealt again
And he's giving them the best basketball of his career and knows he is doing a lot for their still in the running standing. Played great for the Lakers and we traded him. Then same at Houston and worst of all the Clippers suddenly blowing all that up.

I actually don't think he liked his time in Houston.

Any team in the playoffs right now should try to trade for him.

If you're not one of the few legit contenders, you're basically just trading your assets no matter how small it is for a free agent.

True, but that's what I meant by "they have a ways to go".

i'm not certain melo opts in. if he does, the thunder are in trouble. but i think the thunder will offer him a multi-year deal at lower money to try and avoid the huge hit. they'll dump roberson, patterson, abrines and whomever else they can after that.

but yeah, really interesting dynamic there. melo's agent will have to project his value a year out and decide whether forgoing the big payday next year makes more sense. i actually think it does. at his age and in his condition, he's starting to be on borrowed time. it's possible he blows an achilles or knee out next year and if facing a pretty disinterested market in 2019. if i were him, i'd take a 3 year, 50 million+ dollar deal with a player option on the third year.
