Clarkson gave Pope props for defending hard on that potential game winning shot. Agree... Backhanded him too for missing two at the stripe to make up for it.
KCP defensively is more of a reader than a hound. He's great at reading passing lanes, but one on one he's a matador waiting for help defender to save his butt. His inconsistency is what draws me away from resigning him.
He's the most frustrating player....and those two missed ft's? I wanted to choke him out. Credit to him for getting back on D and guarding Smart but still....eff KCP
He does have an amazing game here and there but overall....I'm not surprised he doesn't get the contract he wants. I'm not sure he is much better than Clarkson...actually I'm almost sure he isn't. KCP is a better defender and Clarkson is more consistent. Both are mediocre shooters but Clarkson has way more weapons offensively.
clarkson, since he's decided to occasionally play defense, is the superior player. kcp will be lucky to get a contract offer in clarkson's neighborhood this summer, imo.
KCP gets dumped on and praised and dumped on, etc... more than anybody on this team now. Maybe surpassing Lopez it seems. He is not trash. He is a good 2 way player on a team with a bunch of young players trying to learn NBA ball under a young coach, guided by first year management, in his contract year. He would be much better on a better team, a more solid team. I cant’t blame him for trying to display his talent, which we call him for ball hogging, but he is auditioning for a new contract from another team. He took a chance coming here to Lakers fans delight because we couldn’t attract anyone else, and gave us some stability earlier in the season. And now he is hearing trade rumors. Not sure what people expect from the guy.
We’d probably have to take back expiring salary. Might be best to just wait for him to expire. But if someone wants him that bad, then by all means!!!!
his defensive rep proceeds him, hes medicore at best, just good steals in passing lane...my god this guy cant hang 1on1
