Randle is better as a starter and we're better for it. Look at the numbers, I don't think that's really debatable any more. It'll be interesting to see what happens with him. I hope we don't move him just for a first rounder. I'd like to retain him until the summer and see how it goes from there. I don't think we're getting anything good for him before hand.
How bout this. 12:01AM 1st call (wink wink) to PG. Magic, " You're in finally Bro come on home .... hell yeah" like he's known somehow all along. 2nd sentence, "From what you've seen this year of them playing and what type of ball you want to play .... who do you want to play with going forward?" 3rd sentence, "Julius Randle or LBJ?" Boom. What DOES PG want? To be The Man or a sidekick again? F*** it. I'll guess the answer could easily be Randle as much as LBJ. You know personalities now factor in as well.
Randle usually struggles against length and took it right at Porzingus last night. Just love the energy he plays with at times and as much as we hate it and Randle might not like to admit, but Luke being hard on him when it comes to taking him out quickly because of defense lapses and then bringing him back in will make him better in the long run. Whether Randle is with us or not, in the long run he'll appreciate our coaching staff being extra hard on him at times. Nice to see him smiling last night during the game and on the bench. Hadn't seen that in a while.
Barry described Randle "playing with force" perfectly... Bully ball all the way just banging down low with Horford and Baines. Had his prerequisite charge. Can't fault Randle's effort. He and Ingram were bringing up the rock with Ball out...taking it away from Ennis which is always a good thing.
With the way Kuz and Randle took it to Horford who is considered an All-Star this year and had great success at times, Yeah, I would say our future is bright.
He's a better passer than I thought and he's become a double double machine. Yall are 7-3. I like a lot of the pieces but you know you need a big time all star to make you mid tier playoff team.
I just want Randle to get 30 mins every night so he can work on his consistency - is that too much to ask for?
The guy is playing his best basketball of his career. What’s crazy is, I don't even think he’s scratched the surface yet.
I like what I see most of the time. If I’m him, I still run over at least one player a game for an offensive foul just to keep that in the back of their minds. But I ain’t slowing up when I run them over.
He struggled at first against Horford's physicality and versatility, but eventually got going and really was taking it to Horford toward the end. I liked seeing the progression as he figured out what will and wont work. I'll take the one charge a game and the 2-3 stopped offensive possessions if it comes with all the good things he can and does do for a game.
Randle has the mobility to close on Horford who was camping out on the perimeter drawing Lopez out. Saw that charge a mile away too...
