Yeah, major contributions today, it’s why he’s valuable to have around on the bench. It’s also why I wouldn’t trade him unless we have to add him for a big deal to go through, I’m not giving him up for the sake of it. Good luck finding a quality big like him with the 27th pick again. Oh wait... Well, good luck doing it a 3rd time.

Someone tell Nance not to spike the ball on a block. Keep it in play just like he did on many possessions by slapping at the ball even if he was boxed out and no chance. Even made a couple of outside J's. Nance fits well off the bench where he can play with his usual energy. Did a decent job on Aldridge.

Nance was doing the same work last season off the bench... Tonight with Randle having an off night, it was badly needed. Good to see him not hesitating on the short range J to keep defenses honest. Made two I believe. When Nance could not get the rebound, he was batting the ball to keep it in play so his teammates had a chance to get it.

Wow, what a game. His hustle and offensive rebounds were a difference maker. Had some good defensive plays too. I agree with @Weezy, I’m not trading Nance unless we get some value in return. You need these kind of hustle and heart players on championship teams.

    Via the Ringer:

I definitely had him on my untouchable list cause I love him...Uh his game that is and how dope of a teammate he is as well. Kuz, BI and Zo are also guys that should be "untouchables" due to their team friendly deals and different roles/versatility they bring to the team. I'm sure if Randle had a team friendly scenario this coming summer, he wouldn't be proactively shopped either.

So the fact that LA has now made Nance available along with Brewski's healthy scratch has me really intrigued as to what Mag/Rob have cooked up.

But of course if you got to sweeten the pot for a star, then all bets are off.

I still get dizzy just trying to comprehend the extension Larry had to do to get to that ball

    Also, KCP's face. Haha

So after 2 1/2 seasons, I am in fact happy with his stats on his 3rd year thus far as compared to Larry Sr.:

    Per Game
Rk Player Season Age G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% eFG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
    1 Larry Nance 1983-84 24 82 82 35.4 7.3 12.7 .576 0.0 0.1 .000 7.3 12.6 .580 .576 3.0 4.3 .707 2.8 5.5 8.3 2.6 1.0 2.1 2.2 3.3 17.7
    2 Larry Nance 2017-18 25 30 17 21.7 3.7 6.2 .599 0.0 0.1 .000 3.7 6.2 .605 .599 1.4 2.2 .621 2.5 4.1 6.6 1.5 1.4 0.4 1.0 2.8 8.8

    Per 36 Minutes
Rk Player Season Age G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
    1 Larry Nance 1983-84 24 82 82 2899 7.5 13.0 .576 0.0 0.1 .000 7.5 12.9 .580 3.1 4.4 .707 2.8 5.6 8.4 2.7 1.1 2.2 2.2 3.4 18.0
    2 Larry Nance 2017-18 25 30 17 651 6.2 10.3 .599 0.0 0.1 .000 6.2 10.2 .605 2.3 3.6 .621 4.1 6.7 10.9 2.4 2.3 0.7 1.7 4.6 14.7

Considering Junior's hops it's weird to me that he only averages 0.4 blk so far this year (with Lonzo at 0.9). I'm happy with his averages per game and happier with his per 36.

It's the type of defense we play. With Larry playing small ball 5, we're usually running a switch everything scheme, so he's not really anchoring the paint or rotating as a helper as often. Also don't think he really has a nose for defense as he does for dunks.

Right, when comparing him to Zo, this was my conclusion as well.

Tell you what would have loved to have heard Harlan call that dunk. “Buckle up for Larry Nance! We just saw a man fly!”

As explosive, athletic as Larry is in his in-game dunks I fear he doesn't have the type of creativity needed to do well in dunk contest.

We saw this with Shannon Brown. No one argued he couldn't get UP. But when it came time for the dunk contest there wasn't much there as far as style
