Ollie seems more realistic, but how do we know he'd be better than Luke really? Is it worth restarting yet again? The only way I see Luke getting fired is if we are able to bring in somebody like LeBron and/or George and they don't want Luke anymore.
It's definitely not worth restarting. You give Luke his chance with better talent. simple as that. It's been 3-4 years and I forget how many coaches and its sort of been the same result so far. What does that tell me, its our players and the talent pool. Not saying our young players won't get there but its a tough situation for any coach to say the least
Start over? What progress has he made so far? Stop with the talent bs, nobody is asking for .500 or playoffs but they shouldn't be the 2nd worse team in the league (record wise), for a team that supposedly plays really fast, they are rated at the bottom of the league offensively even with ball. Magic/rob didn't hire him, they have no loyalty to him either just like they had no loyalty to dlo
I disagree. There are plenty of reasons we're this bad right now. Luke has been underwhelming, but far from the cause of our record.
Only so much can be "excused" when youre record is this bad, im not in line with thinking "we're better than our record" mantra....the other bottom feeders have injuries too n lack of talent so we're not the only one suffering.....n stats paint a pretty good pic, the d has regressed while the O was never good at least based on advance stats...n what has luke accomplished to deserve more talent/time? Scott went to 2 finals, potaoe head went to 1, mda hear a successful track record....luke baby sat a loaded team
It's also a terrible look for any organization to go through 4 coaches in the last 4-5 years. You think these other coaches out there at that you or anyone else wants will come running to our team with our history of firing coaches. I doubt it. As Real said, Luke hasn't been great at times this year, but he's not the reason we lost badly last night and IMO is not the root cause of our issues.
We went thru brown/mda/scott in 3yrs, didn't stop the interest then n it won't now....what do we see now on the floor offensively that requires extreme amt of talent? All luke preach is play fast, most of the time is play fast but more like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off
Again: it's not worth it to fire him just to replace him with another question mark. If Pop is available or Carlisle or Stevens, sure let's make a switch. Otherwise you're just wasting my time. Everyone has excuses, doesn't make them less valid. Go watch another team and take away 2/3 of their starting lineup (including the team's best player) through the hardest stretch of the season. Let's see how they do.
Well of course u don't fire him w/o someone in mind but that doesnt meant hes earned another yr either. Nets havent had dlo/lin most of the yr, they have 15 wins, a few against solid to great teams as well, 15 isnt alot but alot better than 11
What im not getting is the notion that luke couldve been some offensive dynamo with the uptempo/play fast system but yet this team is ranked at the bottom of the league offensively even when ball was active
I don't consider 4 games a lot. Especially in the East. Have they played Golden State three times? Houston three times? Not to mention assuming you're equating Russell to Lonzo (Lonzo is a better player) the Lakers were still missing two other starters at various points in Ingram, Lopez, Pope, and Kuzma is banged up too now. Let Brooklyn come over here and do "a lot better".
Doesnt matter who is missing the better player, nets were already limited talent wise...im seeing the same "excuse/reason" when scott was here n how he deserved another yr
Dude, why even argue? We suck. We know that. We need talent. All options are on the table. Just sit back and watch us suck this season and hope Magic and Rob pull a coup this summer.
All im saying is Walton hasnt done anything to deserve another yr with more talent....im not saying fire him just to fire him either....explore all options, from talent pool to coaching
I hear you, but we need some statbility right now, and I have been bery critical of him; he sucks. We need to give him at least 1 more season. If he stinks it up next season, fire him.
