I initially thought that, but being a big fish in a small pond might be enough. But you know he is going to have to deal with comparisons to Kobe and whether he can carry on the legacy. Oh, and California taxes. Ha

Well OKC stomped the Raptors today. PG said his favourite basketball moment of the 2017 year was him joining OKC.

    Not great.

Yeah if things keep going the current way for both OKC and Lakers , we will strike out in FA and lose Randle for nothing ...

Urgent times ahead of us .

We would need to go like 33-17 in the remainder of the season to be in the playoffs. I don't think that's impossible. Our 3 game losing streak may look bad but it came at the time when Kyle is struggling and both Zo and BI are injured. Our team is capable of racking up some wins imo.

Forget about PG and OKC. They've taken off. Still most likely a 2nd round exit to me.

welp...OKC has figured it out and now we'll have to hope that they don't kill it the rest of the way. One of the reasons they've figured it out is they've featured Melo less and put more emphasis on Westbrook and PG13. Westbrook is finally playing like he did last year.

I said that OKC would be in the WCF this year...let's see if I'll be right about this or not. IF that happens...and we keep d***ing around Randle...we're going to get absolutely f***ED this summer and then I'm going to riot outside Magic's house.

still would be completely shocked if PG came to LA

lakers have shown no signs that they're an "up and coming" team. no idea why PG would leave a title contender in OKC and come to a cellar dwelling lakers team. and the whole "hometown" thing is so overblown. a guy isn't going to leave a successful situation just to play in his hometown

No he's not. PG would be a savior coming here and winning just a little would be huge right now.

Lakers are gonna need a new coach and at least 2 all stars to pair up with this team. Mag and Rob will need to earn Magic's mouth this summer or they will be what the Nuggets have been since their inception.

OKC is not a title contender. They won't win a title this year or ever will with this team. Lakers are a PG and one more all star away from doing exactly what the OKC Thunder will be doing as long as this team is together.

Luke is on the block at the moment. Unless he does something drastic to motivate these players in the next 3 1/2 months, he needs to go in the summer and the Lakers need to do an extensive search and extensive interviews for their next coach. Not some bartender loser f*** like Jim Buss hiring people after a 3 min interview.

I wouldn't exactly count them out by saying they're not a title contender. It's been pointed out in their NYK game, they have the 3 lowest shooting 15+ scorers in the league. It's hard to imagine them staying around 41%. I mean PG13, Melo and even Westbrook?

So when they get it right which they will and shots start falling, they may have a shallow bench but their starters should be enough to at least give the Warriors a scare.

But hey, this 6 game winning streak could be a fluke.

OKC is back. They're clicking. They are already at the 5 seed and most projected them to be in the 3-4 seed range which they're not too far back from right now.

I mean, they were supposed to be a good team. They have a ton of firepower. But they are still not winning the championship.

Over the last 6 games, the thunder are posting an offensive rating over 115, which is higher than Houston’s rating of 113.5 for the season. In no way am I saying I expect them to be top in offence, but this shows they’re at least capable of being a top 10 offence.

Couple that with the best defence in the NBA and they’re one good 6th man away from being a major contender in my opinion. If they had a 6th man that can score from the bench, ironically a guy like Nick Young who is wasted at GSW, it would of been perfect for them in that second unit. If anyone gets bought out I think they’ll be aggressive in their recruiting.

Patrick Patterson who was a huge offseason pickup just hasn’t found his rhythm yet, but you expect him to round into form as the first big off the bench who can defend well, rebound a little and hit the open 3 with a few extra hustle points. He will eventually end up at 30 mpg playing that backup PF/C spot.

In the playoffs when teams start playing tighter rotations, it’s going to be tough coming up against a wing defence of Roberson, George and Westbrook. They’re a nightmare matchup for anyone and as good as you’re going to get from your perimeter defence. Then you’ve got Adams who in my opinion is one of the best big defenders in the league with his mobility and rim protection.

I have to be honest, in a season where the lakers are once again rubbish, I’m hoping spurs, rockets or thunder can give the warriors a run. What Durant did doesn’t sit well with me after watching Kobe’s whole career. A top5 player joining a 73-9 team after leading them 3-1 in the playoffs and basically making them a shoe in for multiple championships - that’s real cupcake right there.

i actually like gs, as they built their team in a way accessible to everyone, then capitalized on a cap fluke (that the players/owners could have fixed, btw). they're like the anti-current lakers.

okc will be able to add a scorer off the bench at the deadline, and they'll be a threat in the playoffs as we all suspected when they got george in the first place. can they beat SA, hou, gs? maybe not, but i'm guessing they'll be close enough to prevent george from jumping ship to a 25-win team.

as khmrp said the other day: 2019 plan, FTL.

Why would you want to see the Lakers fail? That’s baffling.

You said you wouldn’t mind seeing PG stay in OKC just so you can see how Magic responds. That’s wanting us to not succeed in our goals so you can get some sort of weird satisfaction from negativity, which is ridiculous. I want Magic and Rob to be able to deliver everything they’ve talked about, because that’s good for the Lakers, I don’t want them to fail because I’m not somehow happier when I can complain and revel in misery.
