Goodness gracious, wow, what a freaking game from Kuz. No he did not miss a shot in the first quarter. He was 9 of 9 to start! I thought eventually he would cool off, but he really didn't. He killed it tonight. Beautiful. And yeah, he needs to start for the rest of the season. Our offense is with the starters has been pretty damn bad without him.

I thought he could and should have shot and scored more .

I also found the the Luke postgame comments to be weird too . Paraphrasing " it's all about his shots selection , he's such a good scorer , he has to decrease his number of bad shots , sometimes he has to keep moving the ball , he did a better job today" .

I understand you want to keep pushing your players but giving them more credit sometimes doesn't hurt too

What I don't get is why they not keep going to him in the final minutes. Ingram got stuck a lot or lost the ball and didn't even look to pass to Kuz. Weird.

Ask our genius coach. It's his design. And he actually called out Kyle about shot selection in this game.

For him, good shot missed is better than bad shot made. Wth?!?

Luke main weakness as a young coach is not being able to recognize who are his best players and what are his best plays .

    Same thing happened against GSW

Its a question of ability if its a good shot or bad shot. I thought Kuzma didn't take too many bad shots at all.

    - Did you expect having games like this as a rookie?
    - Yeah
    - You did?
    - Yeah, no problem.

Again, how the hell did he slip all the way to 27? Oh yeah, because he’s 22, spent 3 years in college and his game matured a bit. I think it was Colin who said he could be the Lakers version of Klay Thompson in their rebuild. At first I kind of chuckled but he may have been on to something. The way this kid can shoot and the way he can score, if he can step up his defensive game, he could eventually become one the best two way players in this league, especially with his size. Pair him with Ingram who I think still needs a bit more muscle and refinement in his offensive repertoire, you have the makings of a dangerous offensive/defensive duo.

    Agreed.

I do think Luke has a point in that Kuz can often get a one-track mind and only look to shoot or only look to move the ball. He's also struggled at times defensively, but this was easily without a doubt the best game he's ever played on both ends of the court.

I think we (definitely I do) take for granted how perfect of a fit he is not just for this system, but Lonzo in general. He's big who can shoot, check. He can handle the ball well enough to bring it up the floor, check. He varies his attack instead of being a one-trick pony, check. Maybe most importantly for the system is he's constantly moving. He has tremendous conditioning and if you watched Golden State beat us, one of the keys to their offense is to constantly be in a state of motion. Defenses have to constantly be on the look-out and it can be exhausting. My favorite shot that Kyle hit last night was actually off an offensive rebound. The ball goes out to Hart I believe in the corner and Chris Paul is caught ball watching. Kyle cuts right across his face, rises, and drills a three right in Paul's face. You can hear Paul yell in frustration. It's those types of plays that tell me more than anything that Kyle needs to be in the starting lineup.

I think but am not sure that Lonzo also seems to shoot a higher % on his spot ups from 3 when Kyle hits him with the pass.
