I'm beginning to agree with this, although I think if he's still dirt cheap he'll come back. It just seems to me like we're not using him. He's the kind of guy who would go to the Spurs and be great again because Pop will put him in positions to succeed more often. If all we need is some threes and some blocks, I'm starting to think Thomas Bryant could be the long-term solution.
i think he's simply not as good a shooter as last year indicated, which makes him a 15-20mpg player at this point. if he could board more effectively, it would be different. or if he could pass--that's an issue for him, too, imo.
He's almost exactly as good a shooter as he was last season. If he makes just four more threes in 26 games, he's at the same average he gave last season. He's not producing more because he's taking less 2s actually.
He's a big man that can shoot, not a shooting big man (ie Dirk). Just because he can make threes doesn't mean we use him as just a spacer.
Like I said he's exactly 4 made threes away from shooting the same percentage he shot last season. It's not very far off at all. Last year: 134/387 (34.6%) This year: 33/107 (30.8%) 4 more 3s: 37/107 (34.6%)
Last night was the most upset, frustrated I've been with him this entire year. He was literally total garbage. He had 4 or 5 of our 8 turnovers in the 1st half. And the guy gets so many open looks, but can't hit sh**. I hope I never feel like I did last night with him again, because my opinion of him couldn't be any lower than it was
For the first 10 games or so of the season I thought we might really try to keep him around next season. He's Jeremy Lin from a few years back at this point.
I have to request that if Brook is not going to play well then he should at least keep himself well groomed. Nothing worse then someone playing sloppily, while looking the part.
Randle needs to start at center and sit Nance and put kuzma! I don't give a s*** how undersized we are I'm sick of slow motion Brook Lopez! Trade him for a bag of chips, guy has lost his game
Honestly I thought he was playing alright until he airballed those two free throws and I knew this thread would be bad news. I've given up trying to defend him.
I thought he'd be better than he has been, and you probably did, too. Just hasn't fulfilled my expectations. Oh, well. He's on an expiring. At least we're not locked into a Deng like deal with him...LOL.
Yep. He's been okay but I was hoping for more. It's definitely a square peg. It's nice to know he could he relied on to do more, but we'll never use him more than this. He needs more opportunities and we need a more athletic fit.
My thoughts exactly. I was all happy to see him do well and then... well then you all were vindicated.
