    "I can do better than..."

    is actually probably damage control.

He's choosing not to let them make a mockery of his son like he made a mockery of UCLA sending his kid there with a new sports car, and not even being that good of a player. He was a 3 star recruit (out of 5 stars) in high school. 50th ranked SG as a senior. Basically unless he blew up this year, there was no chance he was going to get drafted.

Hopefully he'll have a chance to become the best he can be, but that does require playing time. If he goes to the G League, will anyone touch him? and will get get any PT?

    I think not.

Melo is 16, so he's eligible at 19 (one year after graduating high school) to apply for the 2020 NBA Draft. Due to a funky loophole, Melo can become an unrestricted free agent at the age of 21. NBA's working on draft reform...I wonder how it could affect Melo & Lavar's masterplan.

And here I thought, OKC was the team in trouble cause they didn't have 3 balls to play with.

#Lavostradamus aka Lavar's so dumb or is it us?

I think it's safe to say we have ZERO interest in additional Ball brothers on this team.

As a matter of fact, I'd donate a ball to science if I end up being wrong.

Yeah that guy who makes you cringe watching him say the **** he says to national media is smarter than all of us .... or everyone is the implication. Small problem is with all his hype and BS he can't make his kids play great NBA worthy ball just by saying it. Lonzo at least had the pedigree and success at a major basketball university. He'd think of smarter things to say to not make himself come off like he does if he were all that smart. Doesn't know when to STFU.

"LaVar Ball told The Times that the withdrawal was the result of his dissatisfaction with UCLA’s handling of LiAngelo’s indefinite suspension for his acknowledged role in a shoplifting incident last month in China."

“He might as well be in jail,” LaVar Ball said in a telephone interview. “I’m not going to let UCLA take the fire out of my boy by not letting him play for two months."

“We’re going to do some other options. I’m not going to let him sit back and not practice.”

"A person with knowledge of UCLA’s academic policies said LiAngelo would have to withdraw himself from school since he is no longer a minor."

"LaVar said he had not spoken with anyone at UCLA about withdrawing his son."

"“I’m taking him and I’m gone,” LaVar said.

"Asked whether LiAngelo agreed with the decision, LaVar said, “My boy is loyal to me. I tried to let UCLA deal with the process and he should have been playing the next week.”

Oh yeah .... smart like a Fox.

He had leveraged 2 full boat scholarships for his younger sons with Lonzo's commitment. Now poof they're gone and Melo is yanked as a junior out of high school.

(teams pulled off the court on multiple occasions because LaVar is pissed about something)

    It's all about LaVar.

Lavar is a full on tool. I get the hyping and side show bob routine to promote “your” brand. I don’t particularly agree but it’s worked for him. Neither of his younger kids are going to be NBA players. They need an education for their long term success Especially when it free.

People will eventually tire of Lavar’s mouth and his new found source of income will dry up. Is the whole family going to suck off of Zo’s income for the rest of their lives?

    :This:

BTW in one story or clip this morning Gelo was pretty much rolling on the other 2 guys with the shoplifting. He just got caught up and went along with it. Did he just go the DLO route with the bro code?

If I was Lavar, I would concentrate on his little girl in high school and turning her into a man before it's too late. If you want your next meal ticket to have a better shot than your middle child, then you will need to turn her into a man quick and make sure she stops foofing up those tips and wearing square earrings like my grandmother used to wear in the 80s. Otherwise, the second something happens, that chair might fold just as quick as Gelo's after a Mankind wrestling match.

I’m pretty sick of hearing about Lavar, kinda wish we didn’t even have this thread to be honest. Lavar isn’t a Laker, LiAngelo isn’t a Laker, the little ball hog one isn’t a Laker. He’s not relevant, and I’m tired of the media giving him a voice. Good for him with what he did for Lonzo, but Lonzo doesn’t get where he is without UCLA, so he’s an idiot for pulling his other 2 kids out of school. LiAngelo seems like an idiot too after seeing parts of his interview, so I guess like father like son there. Lavar’s other 2 sons will never be Lakers, he’s delusional at this point.
