Seems to me like PG is getting a 2nd chance for a major turning point in his life that he can't afford to eff up. He had a chance once already this year (although far more difficult at that time) to say, "respectfully OKC ... no offense intended .... I want to go home to Los Angeles where I have a fabulous home and play for my hometown Los Angeles Lakers and attempt to lead them back to a title. So I'm letting you know now out of respect for your fine organization that I WILL NOT be signing a contract extension with any team other than the Los Angeles Lakers. You should prepare for that and get the best deal you can for me now. Because I will not be re-signing here". In private with the FO. Handle with class.
It might not be enough. That remains to be seen, but I'm not giving up a ton of current assets and at this point I don't think attaching Randle (about to get paid) or Clarkson (too expensive with Deng) helps enough.
I just don't think they'd take Deng although I absolutely agree with the premise. If they're still struggling by February, I have no doubt George will be on the block. I don't know what my offer would be but I doubt they settle for anything that doesn't include Julius at that point. I'm not in front of a computer so I can't check the math on that, but definitely trading for Paul and convincing him to opt in would be ideal.
Makes me think of older folk and older times... You cant force a marriage and partnership towards someone!
The sail schedule of PGtoLA ship has been temporarily rescheduled! I haven't been monitoring him closely but is Westbrook really that consistently terrible from the perimeter? Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Ox definitely nailed it.. Its gonna be an up and down roller coaster... Somebody bump it. Im too lazy at the bar watching the USC vs STAN game. Tune in! Gonna be a great Cali rivalry finish.
acoording to okc fans he has been, his stats his misleading, hes doing as much dmg as he is helping the team
I think they will figure it out before the playoffs, but I don't think it will ever be "comfortable" Therefore I don't think he'll stay in OKC. Just my take.
OKC's biggest mistake is taking Melo instead of looking for 2-3 excellent role players. Had it been PG and WB only, it would've been a lot easier for them to figure things out. If they toy around 20ish loses come ASG, 6th ranked at best, PG will be good as gone. Just hope that time we are ready with some small little package for a possible trade and I do mean small. KCP+1 other player or pick at best. If we'll be somewhere 10th in the west, we'll have at least a decent shot and chase for a playoff spot. Testing waters and exposing our young players in a playoff atmosphere will be a huge morale booster and a great learning experience. Remember: PG had his best stretch post-ASG last year. He was basically unstoppable. So if we can hang on to that 10th and be behind by about 5 games from the 8th seed, we'll be in a great position. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Owning is out of question. It's about squeezing as much little things as we can from the moment he arrives. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
I'm not sure about squeezing and owning.... but I hope he's here next year. He could be a tremendous difference maker for many years for us on both sides of the ball.
Oksee ya later watch: Aldridge, Parker, White and Gay all join Kawhi by sitting out tonight when the Spurs play the Thunder. Now if the Spurs somehow win, dissension in Okc is going to be at an all time high. Here's to hoping that happens.
Lakers absolutely don't need it but Indiana evidently does. Too bad for them. When PG13 left, he took his fans with him including yours truly.
i honestly couldn't name a single pacers player aside from oladipo and sabonis had to look up who their coach was
