Jules led the team with +5. He's not the reason we lost.

Well, I thought we should have played Bogut more tonight.

    Did you watch the game?

That just shows how useless +- is.

Julius was awful. I love him, but he wasn’t good tonight.

Couldn’t finish in the paint. His individual defense as well as help defense weren’t as good as they had been earlier in the season.

    Bad turnovers as well.

True, Julius is a PF. Luke can't expect him to guard 7ft centers on a regular basis.

Julius played with great energy and was part of the reason the bench got us tied up and took a lead early in the second. However, he shot terribly (got blocked a lot) and got eaten alive by Embiid. But to be fair, Embiid destroyed everyone we threw at him tonight. There was no help defense for Randle by the way on Embiid. One play Clarkson came over to no avail. That was about all the help there was.

Hey Luke, Randle is a power forward and occasional small ball center. Not full time back up center.

I agree with both of you. Expecting him to guard Embiid for entire stretches is unfair.

The anger tonight should be more at Lopez to me.

I'm pissed at Luke and Lopez, frustrated with Lonzo.

Yeah. Pretty much the same but I’m giving Lonzo a lot of leeway being a rookie.

Didn't you say he could guard all positions?

Not sure if you're serious. But yes, Julius is capable of guarding all positions on switches, much like Draymond. No PF in the past and present can be put on an island against an unconscious Embiid, if that's what you're asking.

Well, that obviously wasn't his night. And he was seriously outmatched, physically.

While Julius didn’t look good last night, we still seemed to close the gap when he came into the game. For all of his bonehead plays and shortarmed shots, he was a physical presence on the board and was setting effective screens.

This is what I saw too. His energy drove us forward, but ultimately it wasn't enough and that's not his fault necessarily. He gave what he had, but he just couldn't do it alone. We needed someone else to step up and carry the team offensively but look at the box score and nobody could hit a shot. Brook, Julius, and Ball were all awful from the field. Ingram and Kuzma just weren't good enough.

Why are people being hard on Julius? He's a pf that can play small ball center. But against Embiid? His defense was about as good as can be expected. Would people be killing KCP for playing horrible defense if he were being eaten alive by Tim Duncan in his prime? Embiid might be the best low-post center in the league at this point. He has a MASSIVE size advantage on Julius, a size advantage he doesn't even need when you look at his array of post moves.

We're going to have to figure this out soon, cause we don't need any bad blood with Mintz (Randle & PG's shared agent).
