Just a little tidbit: Ball is averaging more rebounds than Tatum. Kuzma is beating Tatum in points and rebounds.

He is doing everything, but shoot the ball well.

Not that is a small thing because it’s not, but at least Lonzo is finding ways to still help our team and make an impact.

Lonzo is gonna be fine. I like that he still tries to find ways to impact the game by rebounding and dropping dimes. His shooting unfortunately is an off-season fix. I think we’re gonna have to live with the bricks for this season. Wouldn’t hurt if he touched the weights next summer too.

Agreed. He can shoot less than 30% all year and I still wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve already seen enough of the intangibles and court vision to know he’ll eventually figure it out. I think it happens sooner rather than later though. I really don’t think the issue is his form. I think he can be a decent scorer with his unorthodox form, right now it’s just in his head. Once he starts hitting a few of them he’ll get out of this funk and the rest of his game will open up more.

There are college stars that never learned to shoot, Augmon, George Lynch, Kidd for 15 years. Not saying that he never will just saying that people say he's going to be fine are basing that hope on little more than that.

I’m not basing it on hope.

I’m basing it on having watched basketball for years and seeing many of players struggle with their shooting to start their careers.

Hell a player on our current roster was an awful shooter last season especially early in Brandon Ingram and now looks poised to be an All Star in a year or two.

Hell, Lebron was an awful outside shooter for most of his career. It really wasn't until he got to Miami where he was decent.

We're 12 games into the season...

If he continues to struggles like this until January, and we're losing games, it's going to be interesting to see the reaction around here.

Confidence that Zo will eventually start finding the basket is based on his track record. Someone help me out and repost his UCLA shot charts. Also in Summer League it was brick city in game one, then he settled down and started scoring. The 29 point game is an outlier but shows he will be able to score in the 14-16 ppg range once he gets past this. That’s about where he settled in college and where I’d be happy.

Honestly, I wouldn't really care much. It took Ingram until the last 1/4 of the season to finally figure it out offensively, and he's still developing and finding his shot.

Everyone's expecting Lonzo to all of a sudden start making every shot by January is going to be disappointed. He's doing pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE on the court and then some for a guard, especially on the defensive end.

lol. BSPN will say anything to get reactions.

everybody criticized Kobe for not passing, but he's averaged the most assists compared to all his peer at the top of the scoring list.

ingram's still shooting pretty poorly, imo. his percentages are decent because he's been getting to the basket a lot (which is good), but his outside shot is feared by exactly no one.

players can and do improve as shooters, but it's extremely rare to go from very bad to very good.

He needs find a repetitive motion on his shot. Peja, Redd, Marion even Reggie didn't have great looking shots but they found a way to be pretty to great.

at this point, i'm less concerned with the motion than i am with the results. i'm not sure "it's mental" is entirely comforting is my point.

For me, I’m looking at his lower body rather than his actual shot mechanics. A large amount of his threes he looks off balance, like he’s going to fall over with a stiff wind. To make analogy, he looks like a wide receiver who is leaning too far forward in his stance and eventually falls forward because he can’t hold on any longer. That’s what Lonzo’s shot looks like to me.

If I were Luke, I’d get him some spot up looks where he can just focus on jump and shoot. That would require A.) Having a backup PG that could create for him (Didn’t address in FA, Ennis is Luke’s guy, barf) B.) Playing Randle with Lonzo, which goes against everything because of agendas.

Long story short, needs to improve balance, leg strength and he needs to play off the ball some with another creator (DAR )

I disagree. I’ve seen plenty of guys who were good shooters that started off very bad.

Jason Kidd is one of them.

    Lonzo will be just fine.
