Didn’t get a chance to watch the game (driving home from Dallas after the Cowboys game), but why the hell do people keep comparing this year’s team to last year’s?

There is no comparison. This team has much more talent, but more importantly play as a team and are playing great defense.

This team’s success is more sustainable for that very reason.

Also lol @ Rookie of the Year. Who gives a f***? If Lonzo is the best player in the draft nobody will care about a meaningless ROY award. He isn’t getting it anyway. They always give it to the guy who scores the most.

his shot's troublingly bad, but he's still positively impacting the game, which is nice. that A/TO ratio is as unexpectedly good as his shooting is unexpectedly bad, imo.

He had 9/9 in a game where we were at one point 21 points up on a prospective Playoff team. The kid is fine.

I agree with @John3:16 that fatigue and strength are 100% a factor. I also agree with @LaVarBallsDad that teams are going to 100% go under screens all year long and challenge Lonzo to shoot. It'll be a work in progress all year long.

I may be one of the few who thinks his form doesn't need to be adjusted. I just think he's going to struggle shooting as a rookie. As time goes on I think he'll be alright.

We’re playing great as a team. I’ll accept it from a rookie in his first 10 games.

Not everyone, just one of them. Still waiting.

I'm too young to watch 90s, but 90s can't be worse than today's Lakers.

The advanced numbers say otherwise ... We're better with him on the bench and has the worst offensive rating on the team.

Sure these numbers require context and he's impacting the game in others ways but his terrible shooting is hurting us

That's exactly my point. There is nothing to be excited about 5-5 record with Zo as a floor general. The last year's crappy team had 6-4 record.

Brogdon says that fact is not true.

Markelle Fultz's body is broken right now. That's not acceptable either. When he comes back it'll be a good thing. Lonzo's still healthy at least and doing really good things in other areas that really help the team and will keep working on his shooting I'm certain, whether the form is fugly or not.

Footwork going into the shot and as his shot is released is the problem , more than the shot itself

I think you both nailed it. He is leaning forward on every shot before he even elevates. His timing and jump look different on every shot. While he may need to rework his shot mechanics, the glaring problem is everything about the shot BEFORE the release. This is likely due to fatigue and leg strength. For a guy that shot at a high clip from NBA range in college, I’m going to hold off judgment until he has a full season and offseason to adjust.

I'm happy to see we're heading the right direction on the both end. I haven't forgotten what was happening up until 4 games ago. We look good offensively now mostly b/c BI and Lopez are making shots, plus Kuz in the starting lineup.

Great thing about Zo's unorthodox shooting mechanics is that it really shouldn't affect his floaters and layups (although he should cleanup exposing the ball too early on those type of shots). While his shot gets corrected, he should have those rim attacking shot attempts in his arsenal and it would be really hard to stop when you account for the combo of his speed and length coming at the rim. We just need to get more consistent shooters around him and Zo will have no problem getting points even while his jumper is a work in progress.

This guy (after a slow start) is consistently a net positive while he's on the floor and for those saying it's a flawed metric, you can't ignore how many minutes Zo plays per game. +10 at 16 mins per game is vastly different (and inferior) to a +10 at 33 mins per game. Fans continuously ignore that concept when they bring up other players that have better +/- ratings compared to Zo.

Love his floor game even with his broken shot...But when he gets that (and he will), look out world!

If you’re not excited about this team then honestly why are you even watching? Why are you even a Lakers fan?

Seriously the team is playing a brand and style of basketball we haven’t seen in years. One that is conducive to eventually returning to dominance. They’re playing defense at a very high level. Something we haven’t seen since the prime Kobe/Pau championship seasons.

I don’t understand how anyone couldn’t be excited if you’re a Lakers fan.

lol, it's not like we're doing 20-10 record. I know this team shows signs of improvements in multiple areas that we haven't seen in the last 4-5 years. Let's see how we do in 25-30 games before get excited too much.

So basically you’re saying there’s nothing to be excited about because they haven’t played enough games? Sound logic.

Guys, we're not supposed to be excited about anything.

Let's not celebrate wins, it doesn't really mean anything at all.
