I see Lonzo cutting and moving a lot but yeah all of them could really do it more and play off Brook who's a real nice passer. Luke should know how to do this in his sleep as he played with the Triangle and Shaq and then the championship teams with Bynum and Gasol in the middle most of his career and was acknowledged great at running it well. And it's said GS and San Antonio's motion offenses resemble at times or have elements of the Triangle in them.
he just needs to be more aggressive and find his shot. it's not like he looks completely lost out there or anything
9 points and 9 assist also 5 rebounds. Maybe the shot wasn't falling again but he definitely controlled the offense well. Remember Memphis is one of the elite defensive teams. Also played solid defense against Mike Conely
I think he needs to get his legs stronger. Need legs on those 3s. I think he's tired and doesn't have the lift needed on 3s and even taking it in the lane. He dunked in college. Not any more. Fatigue for sure. Still love the passing and ball control. 69 assists / 23 turnovers is getting it done. In contrast, Clarkson has 31 assists / 21 turnovers.
Ok, so, I think the shooting might be a problem this season for him. I think teams (starting tonight) will go under screens from now on. We will see how he handles it.
Fatigue is part of the problem but is shooting form will never be consistent until he changes it. Too much variability of the release since he brings across from the left to the right.
Needs to stop shooting the early shot clock threes. Those aren't working at all and nobody's rebounding them. It's a bad shot.
I think I hate his form on that shot even more than I used to hate Shawn Marion's. Never thought that would be possible.
Like his confidence but his shot selection is questionable. Threes are not falling, how about to shot from more closer range? And he is not ROTY material.
Seriously, who gives AF about the damn ROTY? Kobe didn't win it, MJ didn't win it, it's just a damn award. The fact that we're .500 ahead of teams like OKC and Cleveland, all the while beating teams like Memphis and Washington is the biggest statement we can make at the moment. Sure Zo hasn't had consistency, he's a rook. But I can definitely say that it's his mentality of team basketball and a winning culture that's been an integral part of our success this far.
^^ MJ as in Magic or Jordan? Magic didn't win it, Jordan did. Agree. I don't care about the award. I'd MUCH rather have Ingram than last year's winner. Ball is fine. Elite passing, not turning it over and his defense is a lot better than advertised.
We all know how good he is, he shows signs of greatness, but I'm impatient. I want him to have a successful rookie season as KAT had and win that damn ROTY award over Simmons. It's just frustrating to see how every year we draft top2 talent with high expectations, then turns out it takes years to develop top2 talents into something. Also don't get too excited. We were 6-4 last year with DLo, even better. We've had won the Warriors, and the Rockets by then. You know how the season ended for us.
Don't EVEN go there. This roster is so much different (even with those same guys here last year who are playing so much better) and deeper and more talented and with "good" veterans on it and we are playing incredible defense.
How are you gonna go expecting every rookie we draft to turn into something special overnight? The award means nothing. Do you think Kobe rolls over on his sleep because he didn't win it? I'm just being optimistic about my team. Can't say much about yourself. Everyone is expecting us to find the next Kobe right out the gate because we were spoiled for 20 years of his greatness. Deal with it, this is what he got and it's going to take time. Lemme guess, pretty sure you didn't know what it was like to be a fan during the 90's.
