even when his three was missing, it looked good. sort of like even when randle or stan johnson's three is falling, it looks bad. kuzma's got good mechanics, nice looking shot. so clever, great body control. lots of teams are regretting sleeping on this guy.
Kuzma impacts the game silently and sneakily besides his scoring. It's way early but reminds me so much of Wilkes did it. You blink, he'll get 15 to 20 on you. Never out of position, sees the floor, knows how to get open.
He shot the other night. It was a bad game for him, but let’s not overreact and act like tonight has been a consistent theme all season.
The Kuz will be let looz now that Nance is out. Looking forward to it, even tho our team D will surely miss Nance out there.
Kuzma is in attack mode 100% of the time. Lonzo can learn from him and be more assertive. His timidness in spurts (and an entire game tonight) has been a consistent theme, and needs to be fixed, along with his shot.
I’m loving the confidence of this kid. I guess he wasn’t doing this in college? Because he sure as hell looks like someone who should have gone top ten for sure.
Time to unleash this guy, Luke. fat chance though, cause it might cause a disturbance in Walton's "brilliant" rotation
I think Luke hates the idea of his effective bench with Kuz and Clarkson and Randle and Hart mojo getting effed up by 46 year old Luol out there with them. So he's going to start Deng at the 4 and have him on a short minutes hook giving many more minutes to Kyle now. Could be lemonade out of lemons if Deng has any game left. If miraculously he looks like he's not shot, actually, maybe it helps unloading him but that's a long shot without attaching someone too valuable to us to do it in a trade .... versus more likely stretching him. But here's your chance Luol. Step up and play like you still know how. Should be able to get in some kind of rhythm if he knows he's starting again. Surprise turn of events for him to make the most of after being yanked completely from the rotation.
The handicaps that stupid shot creates for him in getting it off is what's preventing him from doing just that. LaVar the self described coach and tutor who knows the game better than Lonzo's coaches in school .... knew it so well he let him keep that shot growing up. Broken record here about this, sorry, but how f****** dumb of him to let that happen.
What's not to like.... he plays a beautiful game with a terrific repertoire already at his young age. And he's like Lonzo ... acts like he's been there before. Not an ice in his veins, look at me, chest pounding type of player.
Luke will have to if Deng truly cannot play the game any more. My bet is he's going to start Deng at first. What sucks now is that once he was dropped from the rotation he may have again started, if he ever stopped that is, coasting on his conditioning. But that's OK. Let him bang some at the start of games with his heavier and more experienced body and then bring Kuz in quickly whenever Deng is getting worked.
I wonder at what point Kuz becomes the go to player for the team. As it is right now, Clarkson and Randle try to make the play themselves instead of going to Kuz when the team needs a score. I have to imagine Luke starts to tell them to get the ball to Kuz eventually
