Why it should confirm his position Zo is ready for 40 minutes every night if needed. Legs like those what could go wrong?

Awesome all around game. Loved how Lonzo was getting to the basket and finishing. Was much more aggressive. Doing a better job fighting through screens defensively. Shooting more in rhythm. Not forcing as many bad shots. Only three assists, but you can just see the influence he has on his teammates with the great ball movement.

Saw a comment on ESPN calling for Clarkson to start at PG, for Lonzo to be benched, and basically calling him overhyped/overrated.

My God some people are f***ing clueless.

I predicted this would happen. Lonzo isn’t as flashy as guys like LeBron or Magic so casual fans really can’t appreciate him because there understanding of the game isn’t all that high.

Those who are watching the game with their eyes and understand what they’re seeing can understand and appreciate the impact Lonzo has on the game.

Pushing the ball in transition, making an accurate pass on a screen and roll, touch passes, running/initiating the offense and making it run smoothly, he doesn’t need to dominate the ball to be an effective playmaker, it didn’t even seem like he only had three assists because he had a lot of hockey assists, not to mention him getting into the paint area whenever he wanted, probing, and reading the coverage and making the right basketball play nearly every single time.

You cant go off of his stat sheet. Dude easily has a bigger impact on the game outside of stats. Tonights low key blowout kinda proves my point...

Remember when some people were saying he's not athletic before the draft?

They obviously weren't watching the kid play.

Zo had like 5 hockey assists that game. You should really count BroLo assists as Zo's.

    No you can’t.

Anyone watching these Lakers play this year can see Lonzo is changing the culture with his style of play.

It’s clearly rubbing off on his teammates and they’re playing basketball the way it should be played.

His old man's diss or tongue in cheek diss of Steve Nash notwithstanding ..... raise your hand if you see some of Nash's smarts and moves with Lonzo's handles and change of direction and putting people on his back .... down low in the key area already. He was only with him for like one day .... right? Basketball mind like a sponge.

That being the case too bad his old man somehow never apparently cared about that ugly a** wrong shooting form when he was a kid and didn't strap some kind of Fido Shock!! :Headbang: on the left side of his neck to dissuade him from doing that when he was young.

The key from last night that Zo brought up and Luke has been echoing in practice is we need to push the ball whenever we can. Zo and our guys did a much better job of this and it showed.

That rebound touch pass to BroLo off an Ingram miss was awesome.

He can dunk. Why is he always trying to lay it up instead or jamming it in someone's face ?

I think it might partially be a protecting his body thing. Because I agree, you’d think he’d dunk more, but it’s almost like he doesn’t want to risk the hit or fall he might take when he can just as easily finish with an easy layup. He likes to go up and under and use the rim as protection from a block for example. I really don’t mind it if it’s the sort of play that will help him have a longer career ala Andre Miller.

People that say this sort of thing most likely don’t truly understand basketball in all its fine detail. I truly have to question your basic basketball knowledge if you say Clarkson should start over Lonzo. Lonzo does everything you listed above, and it’s why he’s a culture changer. Is he perfect? No, of course not, he really needs to work on his shooting for one thing, but he’s a rookie, and he’s ridiculously talented and smart. Anyone that truly doesn’t understand what Lonzo brings on the court, like you say, probably don’t get the game that deeply. They’re either very young and only used to today’s basketball, or if not never took the time to appreciate the way the game used to be played, before it became more of a 1-on-1 game.
