Yeah he missed some big ones, but he hit a HUGE one. What I like is that he wasn’t afraid to keep taking them, he cannot be, we need him confident. They also called a BS travel on him late where he made a running left hand hook that was waved off.
You nailed it Weez! He's got a gunner's mentality and even when it ain't falling you gotta keep taking them, especially if you know you worked your tail off to deserve those shot attempts. What I like about our kids is that they don't really hang their heads. Even with Randle, he quickly bounced back and put a huge imprint on this game. We're likely to hit a tough patch and get a ton of Ls in the process, but just don't develop a loser's mentality. Kuz is the last player I expect it to happen to.
He got it done. I still want to see him start in place of Ingram. But I'm glad at least the two of them were in there with Randle at the end small balling for the W.
There was one defensive sequence where Kuzma did not allow Gortat to bully him down low. Did not fall for both spins ending up drawing an offensive foul on the Washington center.
He seems to be a great scorer, who just has a knack for making the right plays. Sadly though, his 3 point shooting is down to earth and more in line with what was expected of him based on his college career.
The hype train is starting to slow down and yet he's still making enough plays to be a real contributor. The guy is a steal even if he doesn't turn into a 6'9" Klay Thompson because most picks in the late part of the 1st round don't work out. What's so intriguing still is that his offensive production is there and he's still got a long way to go defensively. If he can be a defensive presence on a consistent basis, he's a starting caliber player.
Kuzma is a gamer. Period. We're simply a better team with him on the floor. Also, his 3pt shot has come back down to earth, sure, but he is still a threat and WILL shoot and make those shots in crunchtime, so at the very least, opponents will need to respect his shot, so he spreads the floor for Lonzo which is just as important. The fact that Kuzma is out there in crunchtime speaks volumes on how good he is and how much the coaching staff believes in him
bummer that his three is crashing down to earth, but that's offset by his utter legit-ness. love how easy the game looks for him.
I don't have the tweet, but ESPN tried to say that Wall got the best of Ball in their matchup. Kuzma replied to ESPN, saying "W is all that matters." Please tell me we have both of them for the next 15 years.
