I'm not a fan of what Luke did last night, but in the end, our team sucks. Our players suck. Those rotations probably work if our team doesn't sucky suck suck.
Ended preseason starting Brook, Nance, Ingram, KCP, Ennis. Obviously Ball was going to start and wit her KCP suspended you move your next best guard in JC into the starting five. You don't throw a wrench in it by sliding Ingram down and inserting an over the hill Deng into the mix. I swear somebody of us here can run the rotations better. Oh no, I'm having Byron flashbacks.
So far so bad. But I'll wait until KCP is in the starting lineup and not Deng to see what we really have before I start to give up on Luke. Those lineups though were not built for success. If he's really going to be this hard on Randle and not start him then he needs to start Kuzma at least. Deng with Nance as starters ensures that you won't win.
Larry played better with the starters... When did Julius get a chance to play with the starters? I don't remember a time I saw him on the court next to Lopez. When did he get his chance to prove he could be there as a starter with Lopez? Seems to me you just shoehorned him into whatever position you wanted to arbitrarily based on expectations instead of results.
Byron 2.0 lol. The guy we thought was gonna come in preach ball movement, unselfishness, and change the culture has done anything, but.
That may be the case, but it’s the coach’s job to put players in position to succeed. What happened to that great offensive system he was supposed to implement from Golden State? Yeah I get we don’t have that kind of personel, but you have to play to the strengths of the personel you do have and Luke isn’t doing that.
I agree. But if Deng doesn't see the court and the other substitution pattern were perfect, I still think we lose. Our players are either sucktastic due to them being untalented or sucktastic due to not being old enough to even drink or rent a car. Luke sucked as coach last night. We are a well-rounded suckfest.
Was all that defensive focus in practices worth it? Feels like the rest of the off-season. We had hyperbolic tweets, pics and clips of guys working out in the gym, footage of players sinking practice jumpers. It just looks like empty hype that doesn't translate into anything meaningful. I mean we haven't looked all that outstanding on the defensive end and we sure look like garbage on the offensive end. So what would you say we are doing?
there's such things as "bad practices" too, kinda like Shaq/Howard saying they practice their FT's but they keep practicing with their bad forms so doesn't lead to better results.....the team could be practicing bad habits and coaching dont know how to correct it.
