Brandon Ingram Discussion: He Is Who We Thought He Could Be

To be fair we really didn't hear about Kobe working out with anybody and I remember hearing players were going to heading into the summer.

 

Sure. But am pretty sure if BI had asked, and with Rob and Magic's blessing that Kobe would do it. Kobe has the uber convenient gym at his house and would help keep him from getting FAT as well. But you have a point.... a number of them probably are just rumors.

 

yea... lets just assume that because we heard nothing it didn't happen. cmon now, if were going to assume lets assume the best.

kobe isn't the most public person either. it could def have happened under the radar.

of course in todays times, its harder than ever to keep these things under wraps. still tho, id prefer to assume the better outcome than the worst

 

I can't find the interview but it was BI and Trudell pre media day I think. Asked if he worked out with Kobe and his answer was something like, it might have happened already who knows.

 

BI seems to excel around the screen. It gives him that little bit of extra space to pull up, drive, and make plays without being flustered by more physical players on defense.

1 on 1, he's not there yet with creating that space himself. Enter...the Mamba.

 

lol. Kobe got away with some of those too.

He knows he's going to be great one day...the kid's got a #MambaMentality and some of y'all want Magic not to put pressure on the kid to score 5 pts per quarter....really??

Like I said before, you can't coddle a killer. He's going to bust his butt to become great. Love this kid's attitude and that is why we chose him to be our scoring dynamo as opposed to that other 2nd overall pick we had. I still think, he needs to take the route of Kawhi and become a defensive dynamo first...but I honestly am not worried about BI. At the very worst, he improves his trade value...but I'm hoping this guy is a key cog to our core for years to come.

And this is why LT is hellbent on wondering if BI can slide into the 2 spot, cause of course next summer, Bron will be at the 4 and PG would be at the 3.

 

I still expect great things from Ingram. Maybe not this season, but he should be a LOT better than in the preseason basically as soon as tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if he drops 40 on some sorry a** during the season. Go get them Brandon!
