even if randle played well, he's not enough to drop deng on somebody. i'm also pretty sure we're not going to need that extra cap space because there won't be any great FAs on the market this summer. might as well keep a useful young player and play the RFA game.
If the Lakers do not get a major free agent in 2018, Lakers will need to drastically change how they run this thing. Need to stop with hype and wishful thinking and get down to work. Too much fluff.
QFD(uh!) All those tablets and TVs in that new facility...better be having Kobe practice sessions, workouts, game tape on loop. Also I've noticed praise for our scouting team...and rightfully so. I've definitely been impressed with them as of late and give them alot of credit. Cause with our recent group, Zo and Kuz are obvious...but Hart has the right mentality and he looks like he could be a great locker room guy and rotational player. You can say the same about TB and how he fits the new stretch playing frontline players in this new NBA and guys are gravitating to him as well. However, lets not ignore that Randle/Clarkson ('14), DLo/Nance/Brown ('15), Ingram/Zu ('16), were all preceded by players that we drafted that are no longer in the league and have fallen off a basketball map completely. Or do I have to remind y'all of Crittenton? It seems like things have shifted for us once Chaz was shown the door...but notice the mentality of our rookies this year compared to those in recent past. Other than Ingram, Nance and Zu, those other dudes just don't have "it" between the ears. Only time will tell, but I like the way our recent crop will change the culture around here and it really has nothing to do with basketball talent. Just bring the right attitude.
Oh Hell Yeah. That's my boy. But not sure I should say that. My finger up in the LB wind here. Confused. I just want to be liked.
Love this. Yeah, it’s just a practice drill, but the guy is clearly on a mission right now. Whether it’s to go all out to score a bunch of points in preseason, or win practice drills. And we’ve seen him run out multiple times and beat his man back down the floor, get thrown a long pass and finish like he was doing with Zo in summer league. So winning wind sprints might actually be a useful thing considering it’s carrying over into real plays in games.
.....or make sure he is in the regular rotation or who knows ..... maybe the competitor he is .... he's trying to win a starting position? All these guys want that and I'm sure he's no different. But agree against most of the time lesser and smaller talent he is perfectly positioned this year to work on 6th man like duties and minutes. Deserves to come off the bench before Clarkson if we want consistent scoring like Lou Williams gave us game to game. Clarkson not there yet, can be 2nd guy off the bench when talking about other than 4s and 5s.
Tatum had 9 in 22 minutes. Think Boston is kicking themselves? I think Tatum will be a solid pro, but they should've taken Fultz or Ball. If not, trade down and get that Kuzma kid. I hear he's doing pretty good.

one has already made public statements to the effect that he plans to stay, one isn't joining is without others (lebron), and the last one is a total wildcard who hasn't led his team to the playoffs as a featured guy. i'm pretty sure the FO is already moving off the 2018 plan. a few months too late. the boston hype machine is claiming tatum is paul pierce, but like, way better. there was a 9000 word piece on it on espn yesterday. he looks more like rudy gay than pierce to me, but who knows. it will be hard to tell this year given how loaded up they are at his position.
Didn't you come up with the Granger comparison? I like that one. Gay is a solid comparison, but Tatum isn't as athletic.
oh yeah, i did. that one is better. and that was a good player, pre-injury. i'm not sure it's worth the level of discourse emanating from the boston organization, though. but we live in a very fragile glass house with regard to hyping young players of late.
