D'Angelo Russell Discussion: All Time Lakers Season 3 Point Shooter

D'angelo Russel should audition for the Woody Harrelson role in "White Men Can't Jump." Somebody that annoying, entitled with body language that could kill a franchise with a single eye roll, make Michael Jordan break his fist on his whack hair, make Charles Barkley sober and Scotty Pippen tip.

To me he is more the unfulfilled promise. If you know "The Color of Money" my analogy sees him as Vince (Tom Cruise's character). Yes he may exude a modicum of "IT" from time to time, but this is just to break the cap of desperate franchises and of loyal fans. Mark my words, he DOES NOT deserve the Balabushka. He is not the man that makes our big two a big three even before factoring in a Lebronicle signing here. In fact I will say Russell annoyed more with his plays than Lebron ever did.

He has always been very good on offense. Watching him knocking down shots and cutting to the basket makes me feel we could really use his skills on our team right now.

Defense is a different story. In the preseason game vs the Knicks, he just stood there, not helping boxing out or making contact with the offensive players. So ehhh. Whatever.

 

DLO looked good. 19 pts, 4 dimes, 2 steals and a block in only 20 minutes. First time really watching the Nets and I liked how they play under Atkinson.

 

Welp. He looked pretty goood...Kuzma is the only reason that I'm not going to say much about this trade.

If Lopez comes in and kills it for us, then I'll shut up about it for good.

 

I'm still confused as to why Kuzma get's attached to that trade. We also had the 28 pick where we would have drafted him anyways. Unless Nets had Kuzma high on their board.

 

DLO is gonna put up stats on that team. Still don't have sellers remorse. Good riddance. Addition by subtraction.

 

because people really need to defend that trade right about now? we would have drafted kuzma at 28 (and simply not had hart or bryant), had we not made that trade.

 

I'd be kinda unhappy to not have T. Bryant as the big kid has small ball and other ball with floor stretching potential. And real unhappy trying to move Mozgov at the deadline or worse end of the season and Lopez not coming back in return ..... plus having to move Deng. Getting bent over for both those contracts in short time frame would really make you sore.

 

last night's game? definitely. instead of tyler ennis and whoever we had impersonating a center?

one of the concerns with lopez was health, which has already raised its head.

anyway, that's reframing the argument. the question is whether it was worth dumping our most talented player to clear space for non-existent FAs.

Definitely couldn't help our lack of scoring or shooting on the starting unit.

 

a backcourt of ball at the 1 and russell at the 2 would have been so much fun to watch, not to mention effective

it's a shame we'll never see that. let's just hope BI and lonzo are all that they're hyped up to be or else we're screwed for another decade
