they wouldn't take ryan anderson, and he's actually (modestly) productive. they probably would have taken clarkson and brewer, though. but we weren't on melo's list, which, while not a huge disappointment in some regards, is a reminder of our current status in the league.
I feel like we've at least moved from "no way" to "prove it" which is a good thing. We've also attracted two solid FAs in Pope and Bogut. Not world beaters, but better than anyone we've signed since Carlos Boozer.
i honestly thought bogut was going to retire. forgot he existed. pope taking a big one-year deal when the market refused a big multi-year...i don't know...just not super impressed. i argued we should have done similar with greg monroe types a few years back, and i think it would have worked then, when the franchise's allure was at its nadir. i've been known as a negative nancy, but pardon me for bringing up that the 2018 plan sounds like the <insert year here> plans of the past. meanwhile, teams are snatching up players in trade in ways that can really alter the FA landscape. just feels familiar. with how things look today, i'd rather have mozgov and russell and little cap space than a near max and no russell. sorry, i went there.
If they figure out who can have the ball more, with ball dominant players, then I think this could work out, and they can beat the Warriors.
I wouldn't honestly. I'm comfortable with the plan, I just am not going to put all my eggs in the basket that's all. I'm prepared for next summer's extensions of Randle and Lopez which I think will be fairly team friendly.
Donovan isnt a good coach imo, he couldnt figure it out with durant, he wont now, especially after russ last season, its gona be really difficult for him to tune down his gm from last yr to cater to melo/pg imo
