Luke now has a member of the coaching staff on the floor. We might win more games just based on the fact that the locker room being a better environment
Signing Bogut makes me feel a lot better about giving up Tarik Black in favor of Zu. Opposing centers will have their hands full for 40 minutes because we'll have virtually no drop off in talent.
This is something I think numbers people would take for granted. The vibe seems great, we've got good vets and earnest kids and that's always a great combination. This team is already giving me 90s vibes circa Van Exel and Eddie Jones and all those guys.
well remember that tweet that came out about what Larry Nance said about Kobe when Nance was in HS or something regarding his Colorado situation. We can forgive and forget as well. But it was funny that you found/remember this quote.
Not really. Kobe was an arrogant ***hole by his own admission. Kobe should have treasured those times with Shaq more by his own admission. What did Bogut say that was wrong?
i think what was wrong was the implication that kobe wasn't on that level. he didn't say the same about shaq, who was upset about playing with what history will remember as the better player. some salty s***. this bothered me about bogut, and still does. mind your own, b****. too strong?
I think he was an incoming rookie with those comments. No first hand knowledge, just a know it all kid. Doesn't bother me a bit. I'm sure he grew out if it.
You don't actually believe that pile of BS him and Shaq said right? Those two clowns are lying out their a**. If they had the choice, neither would ever want to play with each other. I don't care how much crap they say about maturing.
...24 probably took it as a complement and Bogut now can't argue with the results. "I have one more than Shaq." - Kobe Bean Bryant 06/17/10
it wasn't the last time he should have shut his mouth. he was inappropriately outspoken in dallas last year whilst under-performing and kind of mentally quitting on the team prior to being cut. i like the theory of bogut the player on this roster, but i think he's finished as an nba rotation player, in actuality.
What happened in Dallas doesn't count. Everyone quits in Dallas. Just ask Rondo, LO, and Deron Williams. Probably more but I don't care to look.
All those players are quitters. Jason Terry, Caron Butler, JJ Barea,Tyson Chandler, and Jason Kidd all thrived in that environment and won a championship.
For as long as Bogut has been in th Yeah really. Kobe was as cocky as they come. Is that really a negative about your star player? Name one that wasn't. His cockiness, thrash talking and unbreakable will in himself was one of my favorite characteristics of Kobe. Was he an ***hole? Yes most probably he was and still is. But that is not what Bogut's comments were about. It was about Kobe "wanting everything to surround around him the whole time" and basicaly not being thankful enough for having the privilege to play with Shaq. The first one is complete BS to me - Kobe was about winning first and foremost. Did he want to be the alpha and best player? Sure. Should we blame him for that? As regards this ingratitude for being gifted Shaq. It works both ways. I always believerd both of them were at fault and actually would expect more maturity from Shaq who was an adult at that time but chose to act like a little baby. This has always been my stance on this issue and after having read Showboat, I actually put even more blame on Shaq than Kobe. BTW - I was shocked to read how Phil acted and handled Kobe at that time. IMHO, a huge part of the blame is on PJ. I probably wouldn't be as emotional and defending about this if Kobe wasn't always portrayed as the villain with regards to his relationship with Shaq when he probably was not the one to blame the most. BTW - this may also be debatable to some, but - IMO Kobe was the better overall player than Shaq and both should be thankful for having been playing with eachother. Kobe was also as important as Shaq during the 3-peat.
I soooo disagree with this. If they could both go back in time with what they know now, they would have stayed together for at least a few years more. There may be some acting in their newfound appreciation for each other, but I'm SURE they know they messed up something special, both of them.
