If I were a player who just joined the Lakers, personally I'd be bothered by all the hyperbole from Magic and Rob. Not every acquisition needs to be a blessing from God who happens to be an incredible player/human/husband/father/son. It sounds disingenuous.

I wonder if we bring Rose in whether Rob will still be going with the gospel intros? Sodom and Gamorrah references? :ShaqOh2:

That becomes a real evident "the end justifies the means" moment from Rob and Magic and sharp departure for them (hypocritical?), for the "character" guys we want here. If he was really guilty of what she said ... pretty disgusting with the "group" effort. If truly consensual .... still some pretty questionable stuff going on with the "group" effort. :KobeConfused:

Ya. It's starting to become excessive. But if it gets us Paul George and LeBron James next year, I don't think we'll give a s***.

Good leaders don't shy away from bragging on the positive.

Heck all we heard about Mozgov was "verticality"

Praising a player in front of the press and stroking their ego had little bearing on performance while on the court.

However, it can go towards a player feeling respected, wanted, needed, and valued as part of a storied franchise with a vital role to play.

I personally am totally ok with it. When someone feels needed and respected, they are more likely going to be willing to accept a role they might not otherwise be ok with.

Rick Pitino agrees with this...although you need to switch out the word ego with something else.

What in the hell is verticality? I had to correct the spell check twice on that one and retype it. I hate when I have to do that.

The ability to jump straight up on defense without fouling. His calling card. Obviously that ability is a total game changer.

Not a big baller. Lonzo was smiling while he worked those ropes first photo op ..... :Fishwink:

More seriously, love the photos and clips and anything fresh of an audio visual nature. It's the dog days of summer following our ever so satisfying and exciting Summer League championship.

    Bump.

Don't forget that he's suspended for the first 5 games. Was really considering going to the first game but will probably wait.
