    I want 3 rings. :D

I would absolutely love if we went full home grown, but when is the last time the Lakers did that? Never. We always brought in help through FA to a player or two that we drafted. We brought in Wilt for West. We brought in Kareem for Magic. We brought in Shaq for Kobe. I think honestly that LeBron could be that for Lonzo. I think we'd be really, really good with George, but I'm not sure he's that guy.

GIVE ME THE 2 WINS WITHOUT LBJ ALL DAY EVERY DAY. That would be a team I could root for like any of the other great Lakers teams of the past. You stick James on that team and it changes the whole vibe completely. Any championships won with LBJ on this roster will be ALL about LeBron James .... Savior of the sorry a** downtrodden Los Angeles Lakers. You know it will ... come on folks.

So? So what if it is? Lebron gets the credit, so what. I don't understand why anyone would care about that.

I honestly don't understand your viewpoint. If Lebron helps us win, I don't see why any Laker fan being against this. We've had players who've been involved in all kinds of crazy scandals and we rooted for them. Look at this list of Lakers and scandals:

    Kobe --- accused of rape
Artest --- accused of animal abuse, domestic violence, fistfights with fans, drinks during halftime
    Odom --- weed use
Karl Malone --- impregnated a teenager
Rodman --- assaulted a cameraman, walking circus
    KCP --- dui

What did Lebron do to make you hate him so much? No off the court scandals, no women coming out the woodwork accusing him of stuff, no drug scandals, no fighting with fans, and so on. He's an arrogant narcissist but so are quite a few superstars, being a jerk seems to come with the territory. I'm not a Lebron fan by any stretch but this extreme hate is way over the top. If it makes sense for us to get him and he helps us win a championship, I'm all for it. I trust our management to make the right decision when it comes to bringing in the right personnel, and if Lebron makes sense and he helps us pass the team that can't be named for championships, I'll pick him up from the airport.

    Worthy--- caught with a prostitute
Magic--- wild 80s lifestyle left him with HIV

I'm with you on not being a LeBron fan, but the rational side of me understands that I'm mostly upset with the way that the media (specifically ESPN) has carried on about him. He's infallible to the media thus far in his career and he's built a career as "the Chosen One" without the resume. Well... at this stage he's got the resume. It's hard to deny his abilities anymore isn't it? I've grown to respect his game the last couple years in the playoffs. Now, I do still loathe his flopping and yes his narcissism is annoying, but like you said: I want to pass the C Bags. I rooted for Malone and Payton in 04. I rooted for Artest. I wasn't a fan of Rodman, but I supported the team. I can get over just about anyone in a Laker uniform if it means we're in the Finals again... Maybe not Paul Pierce or Ray Allen... Man I hate those guys.

Not to mention, Lonzo is quickly skyrocketing to LeBron-esque coverage on ESPN. It's strange. I'm not entirely opposed to it since it's nice to see positivity surrounding a Laker jersey, but I'm not excited about it either. I can see why other teams/fans would hate it. We've been there for 13 years with LeBron.

Sorry just my reaction to the disaster news coming out of Cleveland now. He is who we thought he was. And knowing that that's coming to the Lakers.

Prior to that I had reluctantly drifted to where you think I should be in this welcome to the Lakers LeBron party. I became ambivalent.

It's just the way you choose to frame the Cleveland story. Is part of this on LeBron? Sure. Any time you have a player of his caliber and things aren't working out, blame can be spread everywhere.

However, the greater culprit here is Gilbert. Gilbert is a horrible person, a horrific owner, a bully, a cheapskate, and a loser. LeBron has pushed back to get what he wants and yes I find a lot of what he did wrong, but I believe it was done in large part because of who the owner was. Riley was able to keep LeBron in check in Miami to the tune of great success. LeBron hates Gilbert. He even said in a video that he almost didn't come back to Cleveland because of how he feels about Gilbert. I believe wholeheartedly that LeBron is purposely sinking that ship and yes it's petty and yes it's cruel, but it's being done to f*** over a guy who deserves it more than most.

If he chooses to come to LA, it's incumbent on Rob and Magic to be strong enough to build a competitor around LeBron, presumably George, along with Lonzo and Ingram. As long as there's a plan in place for competitiveness, LeBron doesn't get a say in things besides maybe some vet min adds at the end of the roster. LeBron comes with some baggage, but if that baggage means getting back to the Finals or at least the Western Conference Finals, then I'm all in. I think:

Ball/Ingram/George/James/Lopez would put up a hell of a fight against Curry/Thompson/Iguodala/Durant/Green.

We may not win, but we'll put a hell of a fight. And I think we'll be better than Houston, OKC, the Clippers, the Spurs, etc. as well. Easily better in fact.

    bridge seems burned there.

i do think that if houston lands anthony, lebron might consider taking the MLE to play there for a year with cp/melo/harden. really hate thinking about it.

I don't think LeBron would take the MLE. There's some legacy/player union type of stuff that would prevent that. I think he'd give up a decent chunk in a big market like LA, but not 30 million.

I think Miami is a half-way threat. The problem is: which team offers the best chance at a) increasing his brand profitability, b) being competitive, and c) gives him the home for his family that he wants. I think if LA signs George in the off-season, it's a wrap and LeBron joins him. The two of them may take less money even to bring back a couple of the Lakers' better pieces. I think if LA can't get George (or some other high level FA), then LeBron is going to look elsewhere.

#LABron...sorry bud, but I'd be shocked if it doesn't happen.

For those of you guys that can't stand the guy, at least there is a silver lining. He will not come alone. Bron is all about bro'n up...so if he comes, another star is coming too (obviously its gotta be PG13, but if not, certainly another star). You got Brook already here, but lets say he wants to go elsewhere and assuming (Deng/Clarkson are traded for cap relief), then obviously Brook's 34M cap hold comes off the books and Boogie Cuz looks pretty good then (yet another Klutch agency client). Either way, Bron isn't coming alone, so I hope at least some of you can get comfort in knowing that.

Also, with this whole Kyrie thing, he just didnt' have the personality to fit with Bron's. Meanwhile, we have a point guard that has a more team 1st mentality, that is more of a compliment to Bron's game and Bron just happens to be his favorite player. I guess I got another one for you guys...#LonBron

    Ingram
    Lebron
    Cousins

    or

    Ball
    Ingram
    George
    Lebron
    Lopez

Top would have Rich Paul written all over it. Bottom, convincing Lopez to take less for a legitimate chance at a ring.
(I honestly have no idea where I was going with this post.)

See there you go ... with LBJ coming. It's starting already in the minds of the fans. NO ... keep Lonzo's name away from LeBron.

I dont believe bottom team is possible, no way Lopez takes mle type money and that's what it would be available if both james/pg are in the 30+mill range

Makes me wonder whether it's desirable to have so many players represented by one agent/agency...

I'd feel a lot better if it was Paul George's management along with a motivated to stay a Laker, "blown up" 2017-2018 Julius Randle. :Jacksnicker:

Lots of potential variations with top level free agents.

One thing is for sure. We will be much improved over the last few years.
