Imagine the Cavs don't trade him this offseason, how LBJ & him are gonna play together after this drama.

Kobe asked for a trade once upon a time. It's doable.

I just don't understand why the Cavs wouldn't instead push to trade LeBron. LeBron is leaving which is half the reason Kyrie is leaving too. If I were them, I'd ask him, "where do you want to go?" and then I'd call those teams and tell them to make me their best offers.

Kyrie can be the man in Cleveland and suck it up having to play in that city.

I literally couldn't disagree more. It's just as wrong as the same argument used against Kobe when he played with Shaq. Kyrie was huge for the Cavs, and I am 100% sure he has a bright future sans lenarcissus

Kyrie is going to have to discover the defensive end of the floor or he'll be mired in mediocrity the rest of his career.

Agreed. He's a damn good player, but before LeBron came back the Cavs were garbage in a heap of garbage East. A team with 38 wins made the playoffs that season, but the Cavs didn't. I said it multiple times, but he better be careful what he asks for with this trade. He is being careful listing the Spurs, Wolves, and Heat as teams he'd want to go to, lesser so with the Knicks. But they don't have to trade him to any of those teams, they can gut a team to trade him and leave him with no help, wishing he was still in Cleveland.

Unless Lebron has told Dan Gilbert already that he's leaving the Cavs next summer, it's disrespectful for Lebron to be told such thing.

Lebron coming back to Cleveland must have brought millions $ to Dan Gilbert's pocket. Plus their playoffs revenue in the past three years. Lebron still has 3-4 good years left in him. I'm sure Dan Gilber doesn't want to lose the cash cow. The Cavs are still a damn good team with whoever they get for Kyrie trade. Easily can reach the ECF next year.

Think about that - Kevin Love will probably outlast both Kyrie and LeBron in Cleveland.

We'll see, he wouldn't be the first player to have a good career without playing much defense. I can't imagine mediocrity considering how great he is on the other end on the floor, unless he us surrounded with bad teammates throughout the rest of his career.

Didn't the Cavs lost about 70M during their championship year?

I mean disrespectful? If you're Gilbert are you really worried about disrespect? LeBron is flirting with teams in front of your face! He's at a Laker Summer League game wearing purple and (literal) gold. He's in Miami reminiscing publicly on social media. Disrespect Schmisrespect. I'm going to go to him and tell him, "either commit, or I'm going to trade you to somewhere else so we can get something for you." No team should be caught like we were with Pau or like OKC did with Durant.

We've seen Kyrie as the lead guy. The Cavs won 3 #1 picks in 4 years.

As someone who never bought LeBron's media image i don't see anything crazy here.

i'd trade them both and try to get some lightly protected picks (could ironically get more for irving, i think) but dan gilbert's a bigger moron than pritchard. the other play is to trade kyrie for melo and something else, and simply prepare to watch both melo and lebron walk next summer (which saves you a ton of money then and keeps you competitive for one more year). this is probably what i would do. deal directly with ny; try to get them to toss in ntlikina with melo and maybe take on some other salary.

lebron's contract situation should scare suitors away.

Come on Real, that's harsh. 1. He was extremely young for a lead guy throughout that entire span. 2. He had CRAPPY teammates. 3. No, actually he was one of the 3 #1 pics, so you can't really blame that one on him ;). In his 3rd season he led the Cavs to the 10th record in the East. I know it wasn't much, but still it was not a disaster considering his youth and teammates.

It's harsh but true. He was incapable of leading his team to the playoffs as a lead guy. Can he do it now as more of a veteran? Maybe. But he's not leading anyone to the Finals by himself, not playing only half the game. He wants his own team, but all he wants to do is score. I like Irving but this is a mistake.

I think it was reported around $40M. That's b/c their roster is expensive as hell in the last couple years. JR & TT signings were just dumb moves.

Agree, they will receive damn good assets as return if the trade Lebron. But this won't happen, Gilbert doesn't have balls to tell Lebron that.

I never said he can lead a team to the finals by himself. Not even MJ could. I believe he can be one of the more successful players of his generation though, even playing without LBJ, and we may have to agree to disagree on this one. BTW - if by mistake you mean him wanting not to play defense - here I can agree 100% ;)
