yeah, framing: we think he can put up 20+ ppg as soon as this year, and we're asking him to try. we'll go from there.

i think that's what magic meant, but he's not always gifted in the oratory arts.

No Dlo or Young, or Lou will certainly allow for more points by Ingram because I don't think Ball+ KCP+ Lopez will have nearly the same volume of shots.

But the increased pace of the game with Lonzo on the court may allow Ingram to make the jump to 20pts per game.

I expect us to be the fastest pace team in the league this upcoming season.

I could see him getting 6-8 ppg just off of easy transition buckets from Lonzo. That leaves 12-14 he has to earn. It's doable based on the improvement I saw in the one SL game.

BI averaging 16-18ppg would be a good season to me

Brandon was already at 13.2ppg after the allstar break. If he'd hit one more 3pt per game that puts him at 16.2ppg.

With the combination of 1) natural progression of his body/skill 2) faster pace 3) more minutes 4) playing with Lonzo, I fully expect him to be a 18-22ppg scorer next season.

BI was forced to create a lot of his own shot opportunities last year.. (as a rookie)
& He was on his way to figuring it out by the end of the Season. With Lonzo creating easy shots for him constantly, he should take a meteoric rise next Season. No reason to think he shouldn't.

I have no problem with what Magic said, I just don't agree with it. All he's doing is fostering a mindset with Brandon to come out and be aggressive. Magic is holding these kids to a sky high standard and it's going to push us forward.

Generally, I'd be right there with you, but the track record so far softened me a little.

He's easily averaging 18-20 a game. He has a pass first PG and he's no longer playing with ball dominant chuckers. Based on his end of year play he basically just needs a more confident 3-ball and an easy Lonzo transition bucket to reach that mark.

Ever since Magic was hired, you could see a different Ingram approach out there. Keep that optimism and expectations going, because it seems like he responds to them.

Set the bar realistically high...Y'all make it sound like he told Ingram to lead the league in scoring, otherwise it would be a disappointment. Magic at times speaks in hyperbole, but what would you have him say in this instance? As a team president you want to have confidence in your franchise player. So of course he will use terms like untouchable and disappointed if he doesn't produce. Ingram should be disappointed in himself if he doesn't produce after all the hard work he's put into his development.

Go back and watch some tape on the man before you tell him to STFU. Some players don't earn the right to speak... But if you're a Lakers fan (particularly of the 80s when there league wasnt as soft as it is today) then how hasn't Magic earned the right to comment on his team and it's players? He is merely setting goals and a championship standard around here after the franchise setting abyss that we've witnessed the last 4 years and some of you guys want to condemn him for it. It's kinda appalling to read that type of negativity, especially when the expectation he set forth comes from a place that's positive.

BI needs to take that next step. It's only through that type of pressure and expectation where he becomes a star in this league. Or would you rather we babysit the guy? The league has gotten so soft that even fans are starting to baby it's players. #GrowSomeBalls ;)

20ppg this season seems highly unlikely.

Depending on how he progresses this year (14-15ppg would be great, mid 30% from three, mid 70% FT), he could reach 20ppg by his 4th season or 5th season.

+11ppg jump in one summer, that's insane. I'd be happy with 16-18ppg with 40%+ shooting. Also 6-7rpg, 3-4apg.

The 1st more than 1/2 of the season this year is unrealistically suppressing his scoring average. Comparisons and improvements realistically should be based on what BI had progressed to as a player by the end of the season, with then the reasons added to expect substantially further progression.

13ppg to 20 is still pretty huge. not impossible, but it would be quite a leap. like MIP leap.
