It would be difficult to pay two max deals AND Julius AND Lopez unless Lopez was willing to take the 8 million MLE. The timing would be tricky as well.
I rather keep randle and get a cheap C that just rebs and def PnR better, Lopez should be the one taking much less if he wants to stay
Then you're losing a unique shooting big. Unless Thomas Bryant is better than we all think, that's tough to just toss away.
if said 2 max guys are there they should be good enough 3pt shooters to negate Lopez absence, teams can devalue his offensive output buy putting us in PnR till the end of days just like the past whatever yrs we been terrible at defending it.....Clev has a C that doesn't shoot worth a lick (Thompson), GSW has a C thats a goon and just does all the dirty work.
@therealdeal i meant to sign and trade Randle... But im also cool with two max guys coming and Thomas Bryant possibly being good enough to start the game before we go small. If Randle emerges on paper he seems like hed be a good fit to start at PF before we go small and slide him to C.
If i was a leastern conference team id be blowing up Rob trying to get Randle... Hed have it made over there. Statistically i know hell improve with us, gonna be interesting to see how much.
Though it has been a small sample size, Ball’s passing has already seemed to become infectious in Summer League. Randle spoke on the rookie in an interview with ESPN during the Lakers’ game against the Kings on Monday noting that he has never played with a playmaker like Ball: “Not really. Not for a guy that’s coming in as a rookie at his age personally that I’ve played with, no. He’s been amazing. He makes the easy play, he makes the right play and he makes everybody better so I think everybody is going to have fun playing with him.”
I appreciate your optimism, and I truly hope you're right. But do you really believe Randle will be in the top 3 in this list? LeBron or Love Draymond Green or KD Anthony Davis or Boogie Cousins Blake Griffin LaMarcus Aldredge Porzingis Paul Milsap
Our big men are probably taking shots right now with Pope on the team making their jobs easier hopefully by preventing guard penetration as much lol. Now we just need more of this when they are in there...
For starters, I don't consider Lebron, KD or Boogie a PF. 1. Anthony Davis 2. Draymond Green 3. Julius Randle <-------- HERE 4. Porzingis 5. Blake Griffin - injury prone 6. Aldridge - regressing 7. Milsap - regressing
LeBron and KD both play significant minutes at 4. But even excluding them, Randle would win the MIP if he surpasses Griffin, Aldredge, Zinger, and Milsap.
Why not? How many SF's will Ingram surpass this year? 10 to 20? And yes, I expect Julius and Brandon to compete for the MIP award.
Sure we can, and I'm all for it - especially if both sides of this not-so-constructive discussion follow suit
