No more hitch and his body doesnt turn side ways anymore, always thought that was weird when he shot his body would turn towards the left too...also we're to quick to want to use him to dump Dung...JC is more replaceable than Deng. I know some are hyping up Kuzma to much, Nance should be the one the go, the least skilled of the 3 IMO, great glue guy but he's no offensive game beside hustle points, his jump shot is even worse looking than Randle was.
Can you imagine Kobe Bryant doing ANY practice drill in any speed but game speed? Not joking. Don't mind me. Incredibly frustrated with half our summer squad and all our interesting players out with cramps tonight against Sacramento and Fox.
Man, Julius is going to silence y'all quick to include him in trade scenarios. He'll emerge as a Top 3 PF this season. #breakoutyear #TeamRandle
That means we'll be able to dump even MORE salary with him! That's obviously the best use of young talent. #over30allstarclub
this is what I mean, so in a rush to get rid of deng at any cost w/o evening knowing how 18' fa plan could pan out, Tor managed to dump Carroll with 2 yrs remaining with similar annual to deng with just a top 3 protected 1st and a 2nd in the same yr. There will be teams that be enticed to doing the same in regards to Deng after this season where his contract is only for another 2yrs. We're gona look really foolish using all these young guys to dump mitch/jim mistake if 18' plan doesn't come to fruition.
Pretty sure scnottaken was being sarcastic. Unless I'm misreading your response and actually you're going along with it.
What's the threshhold of Randle being too good to not pay and keep, even if it meant packaging him with Dung? Let's say he significantly improves: -finishing with his off hand -hits 33%+ from 3 -40%+ from mirange -defensive awareness becomes at least pretty good -dude drops a handful of triple doubles during the season
The threshold is whether we've got two max guys coming. Seriously though, unless our young guys grow to the point where we're a shockingly good team fighting for a playoff spot, I'm not married to much of anybody on the team.
If you can remove deng and/or JC as well, you can still bring back Randle at 15ish and still have room for the 2 max. As it stands someone mentioned we're still 4-5mill short of doing 2 max with the current roster (deng/jc still here) but would have to renounce lopez rights. I rather pay Randle that $ if he does indeed improve his defense and shooting than giving it to Lopez. As great as he is of 3pt shooter he will be an abysmal PnR defender I guarantee it. All we need from our future C is very mobile/athletic type whose only purpose is to defend/reb, anything he gives us offensively is just icing. IF those 2 max guys are repectable 3pt shooter and ball/ingram are 35%+ 3pt shooters, we'll be fine w/o lopez
Well technically Randle's cap hold is 12.5 million. We could have Ball, Ingram, Randle, Hart, Kuzma, Bryant, Nance, Nwaba, and Zubac and still have just enough for two max deals. We'd just have to find a way out from Clarkson/Deng. However, I think Lopez would be more valuable than Randle to a team with George/LeBron on it. They'll need a rim protector and a shooter at that spot. He'd technically be a perfect fit. Then you go small and bring Nance in or something like to play small-ball if/when the time calls for it. The question is though what would Randle have to do to prove he can be the other piece... he'd need to be a vastly improved defender, have a capable outside shot, and be able to maintain his energy all game long. If he's that good though, we don't need to add certain people next summer. We can be pretty discriminating. As always, the key first is shedding Deng. If we shed Deng, the game changes. Our options fly open.
Can possibly re-up Randle, trade and still bring back Lopez and get some goodies out of it. I am intrigued keeping Randle and going with a cheap center(Bryant/Zu if theyre okay enough) to start the game before we go small and Julius slides to Center.
