Honestly, even if he never fully develops a 20-25 footer... he needs to become dominant within 10-15 feet. If he does that and improves his touch then he can bull doze his way to 20 ppg for all I care lol. Paint should be wide open with Lopez.

I liked JRs game. If he gets his head straight he will be a valuable player. If not he has to go. What is being built now is going to be long term sustainable like the Spurs. Buy in or begone.

With Lonzo he could be in for a treat ladies and gentleman.. Dont let Lopez mess around and start drilling some 3's either.

Good to see Julius getting his practice shots in. The adjustments he made to his jumper looks sort of like Nick Young's shot.

I wish he'd just get a little more lift in his jumper though. He's not trying to shoot over anyone there, but in the NBA he's going to have problems if he's going to launch set shots like that all the time.

Hope he practices that little hop as well as a real jump shot.

Great to see. This is exactly what Randle should be doing - working on his shooting every single day.

I'm just happy to see a repeated motion that gets the ball in the basket at a nice clip. :D

But you're right, the next step is practicing shooting over a defender. I'm not sure how many set shots he'll have, but playing with Lonzo might free him up a little.

His form definitely looks better, here's hoping it translates to actual games. We need him to be able to make open jumpers.

like the 1-foot fade; it's a shot he can get whenever he wants. same as that little in-lane turnaround that he stopped shooting for some reason.

to nitpick, wtf was that full-court layup drill? talk about a situation that will never happen in a game--if you're going to jog it up, you'll have time to use your dominant hand to lay it in. his problem is that he can't correct for his speed with his off hand. that's what he needs to practice--righty finishes on the dead sprint.

Man, he may improve to the point where he's valuable enough to pair with Deng in a trade deadline dump. Randle+Clarkson+Deng for an expiring.

If that happened, would we have room to sign 3 superstars next summer?

If you get rid of all three you can sign George, a 10-year veteran max *cough*LeBron*cough*, and then still have somewhere around 11-13 million left to spend with a roster of:

    Ball/___
    George?/Hart
    Ingram?/Nwaba
    LeBron?/Nance/Kuzma
    _____/Zubac/Bryant

You could use that 11-13 million maybe to lock down Lopez as a returner? He'd be a solid fit for that roster as a rim protector/floor spacer. Honestly, adding Lopez to that roster is probably the 2nd best roster in the league at that point behind Golden State. You could use an exception to fill in that backup PG role.

It looked like he was practicing conditioning and doing layups with his right hand

Good job Julius! Keep up the hard work, work on that jumper, that right hand and your defensive awareness and we have ourselves a all Star

His form looks so much better... doesn't have that weird hitch at the end anymore... hope it translates to buckets in an actual game.
