I'd like to see him use as more of a spot-up threat and want him to "pop" more on pick in roll; of course depending on what the defense is giving him. He's a nice roller, too, and can finish. Has decent hands. I think he should get more time with Lonzo, actually.
His hands were the only bad thing I saw from him last night. He needs to catch the ball easier than he does. No one wants anyone with "Kwame Hands" on the court.
Everyone last night looked like they had sweaty palms. Bryant showed his positives and negatives more than anyone else in my opinion. Great, great energy and an ability to shoot the ball. He runs the floor extremely well for a guy his size. He's also a little ground bound and doesn't have the crispest footwork for a big. He's brimming with potential though and honestly he outplayed Zubac by a wide margin last night. Hopefully Zubac comes roaring back tonight.
This kid is way too fired up about the Summer League and I love it. His energy is fantastic. He finished the night with 10/8/1 in 20 minutes. He's badly outplaying Zubac right now and while that's bad for Zu, it's been awesome to watch Bryant come in and make a difference. It's easy to forget that he's just 19 years old!
Agree. Kid is good. Problem is switching; he can't guard the peremiter to save his life. Hoping he can become passable...
Yeah I mean, nobody is giving up on Zu after 3 summer league games, but he better start putting in some work, or he better watch out for Bryant. Not because Bryant outplayed him in summer league, but because Bryant is more mobile, hustles harder and can ALSO shoot. This isn't like with Black or Robinson where they were mobile but had no jumper, this kid can shoot. Zu better get in the gym or Bryant will be coming for his minutes.
He's slightly more mobile than Zu though which isn't saying much of anything, but is making things look worse for Zu. I just love how hard he works. Right now he's shown a little ability to shoot, but mostly he's just a hustle big. Still, he'd be a valuable player to have off the bench in that Turiaf kind of role.
Jeezus .... couldn't Pope have taken $185,000 less to help a "Bryant" out? In Rob we trust I guess .... eh?
He's super raw, I wouldn't be distraught if he couldn't be kept on. I'd like to keep him, sure, but I haven't given up on Zu yet. I said before the draft I didn't want 4 new rookies, let alone 3, and I'd be ok with not having 4.
He's been invisivle Wait, so the way I take that is that we can sign him to a minimum contract it's just that other early second rounders are getting slightly more so it's look bad in comparison? Who cares? If he would refuse to sign a guaranteed deal with us and instead demand that we make a move to free up an additional $200k in cap room, I don't want him. I doubt it comes to that though and I'm sure we'll end up working it out. But yeah, honestly I don't know how high I am on him. He's looked invisible to me outside of the first game. I'd be fine with letting him go and trying to sign a more experienced back-up center with our exception.
