Kuzma can play. Bryant too. Zu got abused on defense and was a step slow all night. It happen, but he was smiling after screw ups. Ugh. #21 played WAAAAAAY too many minutes.
He sure as hell can pass, however. The shot will start falling. And he did actually have some nice defensive sequences. Good rebounding too for a guard. Loved that put back in the first.
I agree with what you said... Honestly i wrote this in another post as well but it sure as hell looked like it was organized and glorified street ball lol. Ish was a zoo at times and thus why im giving a Zu a pass for being a step slow . im not gonna judge him nor most guys till pre season. All we wanna take from all this is positives and things to learn/work on.
Kuz looked good to me. Good all around player. Promising along with Bryant. Not worried about Lonzo at all. But Anyhoot Nance and Zu had solid debuts from what i remember haha.
I like his interview answers alot better than Dlo's, guy actually takes honus for his play/mistakes. But dam just watched the kings game makes me sad, Fox is gona be good, different kind of good from Ball obviously but I love that kind of gm from a PG, attacks and pulls up like he's a pro already.
At least this means people will temper their expectations a little. I know some of it was joking, but we shouldn't expect him to carry us to the playoffs. All this talk about his generational play making, but at end of the day, the guy won't be a transcendent talent in his first year, and that's okay. Let him and Ingram develop over the next 2-4 years.
That may be very well true. I'm just saying he won't be a transcendent player his first year, some expect him to add 20 wins to the team based of his UCLA results. That's just not gonna happen with our team and how tough the league is. He isn't a Duncan, Kidd or Jordan - where he will raise our whole team up single handedly by his play in the first year.
Maybe Rondo is a good mentor since they both can't shoot. Kidding, its only one game. I liked how he was getting to the basket late even though he wasn't shooting/passing. In college he was known for being such a smart quick thinker and yesterday he just looked like someone overthinking everything.
I think the first play with his alley-op already opened eyes to those that haven't been familiarized with his court vision. He was slinging some great passes that his teammates were late to react to, he could have nearly doubled his assist total.
It's on Lavar and Magic for over hyping Lonzo. He will obviously show better over time. But that event on espn was like a circus. The guy is 19. Probably some lakers fans, I know a few, are already in a pre-panic and hinging his potential on how he performs next game. Too much.
True. I just think he’s used to being a media darling. It will be interesting to see how he handles things when the narrative changes and reporters aren’t so kind.
Can't deny that, that's for sure. We'll see how it plays out the rest of summer league, i dont see the erratic turnovers that dlo was making yet though.
true. had one really bad pass to a trailer in transition, but my concern that his outlets were going to be sniffed out wasn't supported in yesterday's game. then again, i was more concerned about that against real nba players.
