will be bittersweet if the trade motivates him to fulfill his potential.

i'll trust the lakers FO that believed he wasn't going to do it here, but if he becomes what he should, that trade will look pretty awful.

If only he had his head screwed on straight... and ideally an inch or two taller... he would have been a star.

We undervalue Lopez though because he is an expiring but with Ball I think he can be 25+ scorer

25 is very high. How many scored that much last year? And he did his scoring in a bad team in the East. If he averages 20 for us I'll he happy and surprised.

He scored 20 pts with his teammates ignoring him for outside shots that clanked most of the time. Reviewing highlights, Brook looks like your 17 year old elder brother when you were twelve, size and skill wise. He dwarfs most of the centers in the NBA.

Brook will be great for us. I have no doubt about it. The key will just be health and in the last two seasons he have played 70+ games which is good. Just hope that streak continues.

All his brashness and bravado would have been lovely if he'd won more games. His persona just isn't really conducive to the atmosphere the Lakers are going for. Hopefully he gets what he needs in Brooklyn. It'd be great if he blossomed over there and really became the kind of player his talent speaks to.

i'll remind folks that his bravado was celebrated when he first got here. in fact, ironically, i was taken to task by several on these forums for being hypercritical of his general personality (which offended me from the beginning and never stopped).

    odd how things change...

I was fine with it at first, but when you're not winning games and not backing up all the talk with your play it gets old quickly.

Calling Magic's comment about your lack of leadership irrelevant proves just how relevant it was.

sad because he is without a doubt the only bright spot that team has right now. Lopez wasn't going to resign even if they wanted him so they should be happy they were able to buy low on him now because with no 1st round pick again next year, help isn't coming any time soon.

No I don't think he's posted anything. Double whammy with Russell and all the effort and excellent analysis to show what level of performance relatively speaking for his age that he was at. Plus trying to keep sanity with the Ball hype and actually preferring other #2 options. I'd be willing to bet just taking a break from the Lakers for now. Hope it's not too long, miss him.

i'm not gonna lie, i'm still kind of bummed we traded d-lo

i just hope ball is all that he's hyped up to be and that we can acquire PG by next summer because then i'll forgot all about d-lo. i still believe d-lo will be a star in this league one day, he's got all the tools. if he can get his mind in the right place, watch out.

As some of you might know...I was not a fan of D-Lo. I was one of the few that believed he would NEVER be an all star and that he was generally hyped by us Lakers fans only.

With that being said, I am not thrilled with the timing of the deal, nor am I thrilled with the return. I get it...we had to unload Mozgov, and ultimately that resulted in a package that was poo poo in my opinion. But why now? Why did it have to be right now? Why not wait until Ball and Dlo play together at least?

I'm not going to miss "ice in my veins"...but I think the Lakers rushed to make this deal when they didn't need to. Pump up D-Lo's value a little more and then deal him at the deadline or closer to training camp. At least wait until free agency starts to see what we can fetch there as far as short term contracts go.

Also, people are reallyyyy making a big deal out of his comments...I, for once, actually think D-Lo handled it very well. He could have taken shots if he wanted to, but he didn't. He just moved right past Magic's comments. They are irrelevant to him now because he's no longer on the Lakers.
