sorry I dont agree, Larry can't shoot for crap. He can hit the occasional shot once in a while but I fail to see those who bash Randle perimeter gm think so highly of Nance. Nance is a role player through and through, great highlight dunks and hustle play but he can't handle guys his sz on the blocks either and has no offense besides dunking. I dont know the outlook for those 2 but if Kuzman shows floor spacing ability and similar glue guy like tendency he should get more minutes than Nance
Nance is the sort of player that can and has turned the entire momentum of a game around with his hustle plays before. We've been down 20 and he's out there getting us 3 shots in one possession with his offensive rebounds. To downplay his impact by saying he can't shoot or defend is really undervaluing what he does. He can impact a game in a big way and it will never show up in the box score.
@abeer3 likened Kuzma to Brian Cook. I disagree as the latter had the mobility and lateral quickness of a sea turtle.
Hearing mixed reviews from guys I really respect on this kid... I have to watch more of him in Summer League.
Yeah, Kuzma is smooth running the open court. The only thing Brian Cook could do in the open court was run to the nearest three point line.
Until we sign Kuzma, Hart, or Bryant I honestly still see them as assets that might be bundled in a George trade. If they're still around for summer league that's when I'll start paying more attention and trying to learn their games.
Matt Barnes without the edge? Isn't that the whole point of Matt Barnes? Matt Barnes without the edge is Anthony Brown... I hope he's not Anthony Brown.
You do realize that Kuzma has a lower 3 point FG% than Nance did in college? And the block shots and steals aren't even close between the two. Kuzma does have a decided edge in rebounding. We can respectfully agree to disagree on this one. If Kuzma turns out to be a baller I'll be the first to eat crow and admit I'm wrong. For the Lakers' sake I hope I am.
it's not a perfect comp. when i saw his feet move, i saw cook. same kind of unathletic frame, too, if you will. i don't think he's near the athlete young matt barnes was. and certainly not horry. we'll see. i was more impressed with nance at draft time, fwiw.
If you see Brian Cook, you need to watch some more or visit Lens Crafters. Cook was a non-presence on the floor except for shooting threes. Kuzma impacts the game in all the right ways. He's smart, he's versatile, he's agile, he is an excellent finisher at the rim. There is a reason he made 1st team Pac 12 ahead of Jordan Bell on the 2nd team.
I can't help it but I really do think Kuzma will be able to play some 3 either this year or in the near future. Improving his ball handling and shot which judging by the reviews coming out of the combine he certainly has which will allow him to play some 3 That running hook
Yeah holy crap that thing could be a signature "stop this" kind of a shot. That is awesome. Can he do it going to his left?
