Green scum C bags And discussing things while we're at it. I like this forum. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
If I was Paul George being the Lakers diehard I am I'd demand a trade to the C Bags, make them believe I'm resigning so they give up assets, and then a year from now I'll sign with the Lakers.
Totally agree. 2-3 years guaranteed maybe even longer over a 1-year set in stone rental. No way Ainge is offering the Pacers more than what MIN offered the Bulls. Unless he sees George to be a gazillion times better than Butler. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
For the record, he's a clipper fan and a Kobe diehard. But there's no mention of him being NOT a Laker fan and there's not one fan of Kobe who isn't a fan of the Lakers. So yeah, a Laker diehard he is. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Another great point. If the C Bags were so willing to go "all-in" they would have beaten that garbage offer for Butler. I simply don't see it. We could all be hopeless optimists right now, but I want to see the deal on the table before I start reconsidering anything from the Lakers' perspective. Another thing to keep in mind: Pelinka and Mintz are obviously in contact with each other. There's no way they're not on the same page. If there's a chance George will go somewhere else and be happy, Mintz will let us know and we'll have to reconsider the stance.
Ainge is an asset hoarder and stingy spender. He could have easily trumped that Minny deal but I think he's confident in being able to sign Hayward and just having to trade for PG instead of trading for two guys.
It's picking up members now at a nice clip. The draft (and Lonzo fans?) seem to have been a catalyst? The Facebook initiative that sirronstuff mentioned yesterday or the day before could blow the lid off. I say this because of the level of civil and intelligent discourse that is seen here PLUS being hands down the most graphically beautiful and flexible and media insertion friendly SITE I have seen anywhere on the internet. At least in the things which are many that I'm interested in. A league of its own. If anyone has seen anything remotely close please mention .... maybe I might want to check it out if caring about its reason for existence. And the instantaneous (so far) response times from the tech and bandwidth capabilities are awesome. Nothing like the ill thought out post from a shoot from the hip thought that one () might want to delete soon as one sees it on line that can be gone in an instant. Once visitors realize all of the above many are going to want to stay.
on the next timofey mozgov, to whom we can attach ingram when he doesn't average 25/8 next year? i'm only half-joking. my whole point is that we now have a full calendar year in which george can change his mind about his undying love for the lakers. indy bet on it last night. i'm not sure it was a bad bet. they're still screwed, because his trade value is low. but any change of heart is a good one for them (and bad for us). they're at the low point.
Yup Mintz and Pelinka have the same objective. Keep screwing Pacers whenever a team is interested until the only option left are the Lakers
Still doesn't make sense. He would have better chances of landing Hayward with Butler being part of their team already. Many pundits including Skip would say, Butler is better than George. Why not go for the obvious kill than risk it with a 1 year rental PG unless he sees an opportunity to take him for a song so the Pacers can stick it to us. Still, a 1 year rental over a guaranteed two years? Maybe even longer? My elementary mathematics says it doesn't add up. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Jimmy Butler is not better than Paul George lol. I haven't seen one respected analyst (obviously doesn't include that moron Skip) make such a statement.
Totally random story: This one time I thought I saw him at a Target, was about 10 seconds from approaching him before realizing he was still playing in the playoffs.
Stephen A just said there was a deal in place where Melo and PG13 were gonna be in Cleveland with Bron and Kyrie. Cleveland GM getting fired killed it, along with no one wanting Love. He's on his radio show and about to talk more about it.
3 small forwards and a shooting guard, sounds like a good plan. They would have been amazing defensively.
How exactly were the Cavaliers gonna pull that off? The only attractive asset they have is Kevin Love and even that hasn't been all that attractive. In what world is that enough to get Carmelo and PG13
Yeah George is going to go to Boston and immediately give up even more money than he'll pass up by not being a Pacer. I don't see it. All to help the team that's dragging his name through the mud on his way out? Sure. Okay. Whatever you say Boston-based radio guy.
Actually it makes perfect sense from the perspective that Ainge just wanted to block a PG to the Lakers trade. Think of the timeline: Before the draft, Houston is rumored to be pushing hard for PG. Indy is clearly willing to negotiate to the last moment possible to maximize their return for PG. During the beginning of the draft, the Houston rumor dies down. There seems to be no other teams aside from the Lakers still going after PG. The shocking Butler trade is announced, severely depressing the already low value of PG given the terrible package accepted by Chicago. The Lakers offer is likely the best left for Indy at this point. Suddenly Boston is rumored to be heavily pursuing PG. I'm almost certain this is because a desperate Indy informed other teams that they were inching closer to accepting the Lakers offer unless someone beat it right away, and Ainge would love nothing more than to shaft the Lakers. Then we hear negotiations stalled between Boston and Indy, yet Indy decides to stand pat and not trade PG. I believe Ainge convinced Indy to wait until free agency to trade PG to them after they sign Hayward with promises of draft picks and players. However, I bet Ainge has no intention of actually trading for PG, at least not at price Indy wants. He just wanted to prevent the Lakers from getting PG during the draft, and his promise did the trick. Now the Lakers have no picks to trade for PG, and when free agency rolls around, I will not be surprised to hear that Boston has decided to pass on PG. Indy will be much less inclined to trade PG to the Lakers without the picks, and the Lakers will probably decide just to wait for free agency next summer. Of course all this is wild speculation, but it makes more sense the Boston burning assets for a PG rental when they could have had Butler instead. Ainge wants to keep his draft picks over both Butler and PG, but he couldn't resist sticking it to the Lakers with a baseless promise he has no intention of keeping.
Wouldn't the fact that no one wanting love equate to NOT having a deal in place? that makes no sense, if nobody wanted love how was a deal in place?
