So I log in...see this and say what? Russell who I liked is gone? There's something more to it as to why he's unloaded. Wasn't around training with the others... Everybody hang on to your butts 'coz there's probably more happening. :)

Not everyone has to run to have a team with the right pace. Run and if nothing is there the half court set starts with the arrival of the center..

Underrated returns in Lopez and 27 while creating future cap space.

If Indy gets greedy, lets take on expiring contracts for picks(or maybe move up w/27\28). I dont wanna sign anyone though I'm intrigued with Blake Griffin and watching him get fed by Lonzo. With Lopez on the floor we can have a nice paint to attack.

Blake is currently playing with the best passer in the league. Ball isn't going to be near that skill level.

I admit I'm kinda stoked. I've always been a Lopez fan, back to his days at Stanford. Maybe he takes a cut in pay after next season to stay in Cali. Welcome home big fella!

    Good riddance

Unlike most people here I think this is a GOOD move.

a - you get rid of a complete headache who is and will continue to underachieve.
b - you get rid of a horrible contract while gaining some flexibility

I believe this is a move to start a 2 to 3 year process of fixing things..... this thing became a complete mess post Mr. Buss ......

I guess it all comes down to what you think of Russel and his so called "potential" ....... I think he's a second rate star at best....bust at worse ...... that makes this a great deal......

if you think Russel was going to be the best thing since sliced bread than you will be severely disappointed in this move

    only time will tell.

yeah blame the dumb guy Jimbo when all these trouble started with Kupchak, the talent evaluator, cap expert, giving away 4 year contracts to garbage.

Lost in all this emotional discourse is the forgotten fact that we just acquired a 20 point scorer, the first one since Kobe's prime

Well I'm certainly glad we will be done having to hear all the Russell bashing pretty soon.

Lopez isn't a bad acquisition. I think he will actually work pretty well in Luke's offense as a stretch five.

Yeah, and all we need to do now is trade Randle for George and we'll be the worst rebounding team in the league! If you can't be the best at something at least we can lay claim to being the worst at something!

For what it's worth, I do expect Randle to be gone too. Not sure who we will target but I think we will be cleaning house of all the guys tainted by Byron.

Yeah I hear you. There was a stretch where he missed major time 2/3 years, but that was already a while ago. I think it's fair to be concerned, but I was pleasantly surprised to find he'd been relatively healthy for three straight years.

The most skillful big we've had since Pau Gasol and it's not debatable. Definitely a guy I'd want to keep going forward. At a lower price of course.
