Oh joy, another night of this, hoping to wake up tomorrow to see something done, what fun. Best case we get him and gave up Russell and Randle, unless the Pacers settle for Clarkson for some crazy reason. Way to not gut the team to get him, give up our starting SG and PF.
I guess Paul George's agent was full of crap saying that dlo and Randle will play with George, maybe they'll all join the nets together lol
That might be the hang up now. With Russell at least he gets his own team. From an agent perspective, Russell will be handed the keys over there and should then be able to make some money in a couple years. With Randle it's similar, but will he get that sort of production in Indiana? Probably not. Randle in Indiana right now is worth 12 million. Randle in LA is worth 16 or more. It may be worth it for LA to cling to Randle.
And if we DON'T get a PG deal done, we then need to trade away the 27th or 28th for something quick because we don't need to be adding 3 rookies on guaranteed contracts. Trade them both for a pick in the late teens or early 20's I'd guess.
If the C Bags land Paul George...our team will likely be bad enough that not only will they have kept him from us (for a year anyway), but then they get our pick as well.
Sad part is if this scenario occurs I can actually believe we trade back 27+28 back to Brooklyn for 22.... NO2:
I feel uneasy about trading DLO, only way this gets better is we somehow trade Deng to Indiana for PG without giving up Randle or Clarkson. This is like gutting half of your young core.
Dump one of our best prospects in a salary dump, now we are trying to trade the farm for PG. FO needs to get a grip. Still not over dumping DAR and not having PG trade secured. Playing catch up now.
Whatever happened to all those "insiders" saying the Lakers were intent on keeping the young kids and being willing to sign George in the summer? We are just gutting away at this point. Russell and Randle both gone? for Paul George an a little cap space?
Salary dump? Our front office is probably gonna try to sell us on the idea that Lopez is a superstar that makes us playoff contenders by himself
I fully expect to wake up tomorrow to see: Lakers trade Clarkson, #2, #27 and #28 picks to Indy for PG-13 and Thadeus Young.
After the Russell trade and some of these other rumors, I actually might breathe a sigh of relief if we give up Randle, 27, and 28 for George at this point. Feel like Nance might be a better fit at 4 anyways and I'm worried our FO might be desperate enough to give up way more than just Randle.
I can no longer say we won't give up much for PG, I am sort of expecting us to give too much now at this rate.
