Well...I hate to break it to you guys but he's not coming to the Lakers. We have seen him hold the NBA hostage. Remember all those teams that gutted their roster in hopes of signing Lebron? Knicks did it. Bulls did it. Cavs did it. Miami did it. Miami actually signed Bosh before Lebron made his decision and he liked his chances with Wade and Bosh and the rest is history.

Fast forward to 2018 and we are in another Lebron sweepstakes. A laughable one at best. He is a lot older than in Miami. Has shown a decline. At least back then we knew Lebron had great potential to win a ring. Today? He has shown the world that his triple double average in the Finals didn't make an impact. He needs the ball. Glorified 'Melo with the inflated stats.

Going off what we know of Lebron and what he has done in the past by holding a team hostage....I don't want him and I wouldn't hold my breath in hoping that he come to the Lakers.

Well the thing about Lebron is that he doesn't seem to breaking down and his skill set is one that would allow him to transition to a second or third option pretty well as his skill starts to decline.

I rooted for Malone and Nash I'll be okay with Lebron. Just don't like making moves banking on his arrival.

The catch 22 is, that you have to do it though. You don't go to a guy like LeBron (or Durant or anyone of that upper echelon) and say, "First you sign, then we make Trade A, Trade B, cut Player C and then sign Max Player D in FA". You clear the decks, set the roster and THEN "The Guy" shows up.

Medina sites that the Lakers grew increasingly frustrated by D'Angelo's attitude and professionalism. I guess this is a message sent to the others as well.

I got that. It was more about the uneasiness of making moves without a guarantee he's coming. Unfortunately, this is the new NBA. You might take the gamble and be the next Heatles, or you might be screwed.

The only reason I have any trepidation about signing LeBron is the fear that we might end up with a tainted banner. I have my suspicions and until I'm disabused of them, I'll always worry about having an asterisk year. Having said that, if I knew for sure he wasn't doing anything that would undermine our credibility, FOR SURE I'd want him to come here. He JUST averaged a triple-double in the freakin' finals THIS YEAR. And against GS no less.

Not yet. The asterisk comes when the story breaks. And by the way, I freely admit this is entirely speculative. It could just be that LeBron is the fastest and most agile 6'9 basketball player ever, who looks 40, had a growth removed from his enlarged jaw and suffers from premature baldness. In fact I hope that's true. Once I got past my dislike for his earlier arrogance, I really grew to enjoy watching him play. I think he approaches the basketball ideal when he's at his best and he's been a total class act off the court too. I just... have my suspicions.

Not seeing this as bad as most People here.
If we're able to get PG for 27/28/Clarkson, that means we basically traded
DLO/Clarkson/28 for PG13/Lopez & got Moz's contract off the books for next Summer..

Fingers crossed on the Indy deal.

I sort of agree with that aspect, but at the same time... I'm desperate for that banner. I'm hungry for that banner. If we could get George/James on the same team at around the same time things start to unravel in Golden State with our young kids coming up... I'm not turning my nose to it. I'm just not.

If we are able to do that. I really don't think we can. "Sources" are saying Cleveland can beat that trade (Clarkson 27/28) with a third team. I don't see it happening that way.

    Best case scenario

Trade luol, 27 and 28 pick along with future picks for George

    Ball
    George
    Ingram
    Randle
    Lopez

Plus ton of cap space for next summer for other super stars
