http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-los-angeles-lakers-talking-trade-paul-george From Stein's & Shelbourne's write-up on this development: The Lakers have been adamant that they will not part with the No. 2 pick or last season's No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram in a trade for George, knowing that the Pacers' All-Star hopes to sign with his hometown Lakers as a free agent in July 2018. One team source went as far Tuesday as saying there's "zero chance" they'd surrender Thursday night's No. 2 pick or Ingram Some follow-up tweets talking about D'Lo & 28th pick for George. I've also read/heard a lot of chatter about the FO not being super high on Russell's mentality. I'm just so bullish on the kid. Would NOT be happy if we dealt him here when we have so much leverage. We shall see...
Espn had a guest (didn't catch his name) who said, "half the GMs in the league hate Dangelo and the other half don't like him." Wasn't Ford. Said their is no market for him. Are we way off on our player and his value?
Sometimes hate irrationally clouds our judgment. And if it's a former player, some are old school and would hold a grudge because of code violations. I say f*** those guys. But I want DAR here.
Either jc + picks or wait till he's a free agent, that's the hardball offer we give them, take it or leave it
I think D'Lo still has alot of potential to be very good so I'm extremely hesitant to trade him for PG as well. If anything, I'm more open to trading Randle before Russell. Although Randle seems more mature and has a bigger winners mentality, Russell has more upside I think. I think Russell isn't even that far from being Brandon Roy pre-injury, while Randle's ceiling may be..... a smaller body Derrick Favors.
I like the sound of it, but then I think of how Magic has never really spoken highly of Russell and I wonder if that is considered too much to our front office or just to us. Also makes me wonder considering we probably take Ball (or another PG) Thursday, if we might see trading Russell as less of a deal since then the 2nd pick player, Ingram, and George all can start. Definitely nervous time.
I wasn;t implying that Ingram was available. Magic already made clear he's not. I really doubt Zu is available either. I'm with you, hoping Nance does not become part of these negotiations either.
We're probably a little off since every fanbase overrates their prospects. But statistics don't lie, and he is really known nationwide for the camera phone incident. No one is watching him on a nightly basis like we are. But if we jump the gun and give up Russell when we could get PG-13 for free, I will be VERY disappointed.
Ball really talked up being a team leader. I wonder if they told him their plan to move Dangelo. Aaaargggg..... this is too much.
