Love and a first gets it done financially. Then George is in Cleveland with: Kyrie Shump George James Thompson/Frye They find another ring chaser or two and they are likely in the finals again. Would George become James's faithful sidekick after that? Kyrie-George-James is every bit as good as any top 3 GS has.
I will see if Magic and Lakers lose PG to any team and he ends up staying, this will be a huge black eye for him and the franchise. This is like an alley oop for the franchise, don't let it slip away.
Landing PG would be a great start for the new management. Losing him (and Jerry West) will be a huge blow. I don't think we'll wait for him in free agency. I think he comes via trade, for how much is the better question. I hope we don't get suckered into giving up a lot.
If Indy doesn't get the deal they want, they probably would rather just let him go and not take on marginal talent and unnecessary cap strangers like mospoop and Dung.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-very-early-stages-of-paul-george-trade-talks Don't wanna see this happen. I know LeBron to the Clippers after next season to join Paul, Wade, maybe Melo to be the banana boat bunch is the rumor, but George makes the Cavs a title contender again. Would LeBron leave a 26 year old Irving and 28 year old George as he ages? I dunno...
Wow. Subtle. If that happened today then he knows more than the national media guys do. I still say the Cleveland thing is mostly bluster in order to loosen the Lakers up a little bit. They're the only contender who might be willing to let everything go for a chance at him, but at what price point? Do they trade Love? Are they really better than Golden State with George and Kyrie instead of Love and Kyrie? I think they're better than Love/Kyrie, but I don't think they're better than Durant/Curry/Thompson/Green. Then if you're Indiana, why do you do that? Why do you take back Love's contract? He's a huge contract for a guy you can't build around. He may net you a positive asset down the road, but who knows? In the end I think it behooves the Lakers to make a modest #28/Clarkson trade for George. Throw in a 2nd. We get him a year early and we can start the build faster that way. It weakens Boston's new trade piece. We compete much, much faster.
Cleveland: Love and a first to start. Boston has seven first rounders over the next three years. Could get in the mix.
