Ultimately the winning side of a negotiation is the side who is willing to walk away from the table. Unfortunately for Indiana...that's us.
I would do a Clarkson, Mos or Deng and #28 pick. Then you go after Biff (I know not popular) but get biff to switch locker rooms. Then you have this team next year.... Ball Russell George Griffin Zubac Ingram 6th man and Randle 6.1. That team makes the playoffs next year.
Gosh, I know no deal is done yet...but it seems like a foregone conclusion at this point and I'm loving the outrage from opposing fans. I never post there, I only lurk, but on the RealGM General Board people are melting down and trying to come up with any scenario that PG doesn't wind up here - you should see some of the lengths they are going to in order to believe we won't land him, some of the wildest hypothetical trades ever. We are about to make the first major move to become good again and no one else can stand it. Everyone likes to go on about Boston, Cleveland, Little Brother from across the hallway, etc. and how they "make more sense"...newsflash: LA has been the word for months, where there's smoke there's fire, and the most credible reporter in basketball just verified it. PG in the P&G? #DoneDeal
I'm actually a little concerned that Magic gets too excited and gives up too much in a trade for him now.
So what is everyone's thoughts on this, does George get traded by/during the draft, before the season, during the season or not at all?
Hmm, that's tricky. Possible they could trade him somewhere he ends up happy and not just a rental, and the thought causes our front office to go after him now and give up too much. Tough one. Hope they don't get on the phone with Cleveland for one.
Yeah I'll take my chances. Show me another offer and we'll see what's up. I'm sure there's some soft answers out there but George and his agent can control this game.
