I assume he means the #28 this year? In any case I don't like it. I was down on Russ multiple times this season, almost no player on our team frustrated me more, but that's because I know he can be better. I'm not giving him away that easily for a guy that's a free agent in a year. I'm not giving away Russ to get rid of Deng either, no way I give up on a talent like him to undo Mitch and Jim's mistake. If Russ and the kids turn into the solid core we hope in few years then Deng will be gone by then anyway and we'll have traded Russell away before he can fulfill his potential. If George wants to come to LA he can, and if we want to trade for him it's gonna be a weak offer, sorry Indy.
Only Ball will be a decent 3PT threat in that scenario, I'm in if what it takes are DAR and future draft picks. But yeah they got to eat DUng up.
Damn. Why don't we throw in Ingram, Lonzo, Lavar, our 16 trophies and Staples while we're at it. Lakers do that trade and me and Magic are fighting.
I could see us having to give JC + #28 + 2 future Firsts. That's still a lot, but I'd probably do it. No way Lakers do the deal Mason is proposing.
Don't do it... Wait till the pacers are desperate. We got leverage. Or just wait till next year he's ours without giving up anything
Deng, Russell and #28...thats a great deal for us. George can play SG next to Ball and Ingram. We get rid of Deng and #28 isn't that valuable to begin with. I would even deal Randle, Clarkson, Deng and #28. Thats an even better deal for us. But considering that Indy has no leverage whatsoever...its tough to give up too much for a one year rental if George is really "hell-bent" to become a Laker. If that is the case, I'm sure Pelinka would have knowledge of that.
