yep, time to play hardball with indy. i'd still trade with them, but my top-tier assets (russell, ingram, #2) might ALL be off the table.
Don't need a d*** slap like Omar Little or any of those jerk off moderators at Leftisground to tell us the obvious. C Bags are going to take Fultz. He is too perfect for what they need. Bradley is always injured and Smart will be a 6th man machine soon. Fultz and IT will be a force. If they get Hayward, they are set. With Hayward and George not making the ALL-NBA teams today, that makes their assent to their primary teams even bigger. If the Lakers can PG and a few guys develop into all-stars in a couple of years, the C Bags vs Lakers run might be in the works.
The best scenario is if you trade JC or JR plus Deng for PG. this way you can free up even more cap space ($30m+) summer 2018 to add a significant name
Thomas as you can tell against great competition in the playoffs is a different player. Let's see if he even has one good game against the Cavs. Giving that much respect to the C Bags for playing in the sorry East. I'm not giving up Russell,Randle or Ingram for George anymore just for a year advancement.
Yeah, sorry, Indy has no leverage here. I was for sending Randle and JC for PG, but now all of Russell, Ingram, Randle, Zubac and obviously the #2 pick are off the table for him. They'd have to take the 28th pick and scraps, which I don't see happening, so I guess wait for free agency it is.
My position has always been that Julius was too much to give up for an expiring and unhappy George. Clarkson on the other hand, is a bench player, and expendable. They could take any combination of the following: 1. Jordan Clarkson 2. Houston #28 pick and/or 2019 1st round pick 3. Deng or Mozgov Trading George would mean the Pacers are rebuilding. 3 years of Deng or Mozgov shouldn't be much of a negative for a team that's starting from scratch. They aren't going to need the cap space to sign FA's for a while anyway. If they take Deng, we play out Mozgov's contract. If they want Mozgov, we stretch and waive Deng. Let's get this done.
I know we all like to wait and give indy zilch but same time i really dont want to see phi get a top 5 pick next yr, we can be all optimistic but reality is without someone of PG13 calibre player theres a high chance this is a lottery team again...it would be alot more enjoyable to screw over another team that enjoyed our losing like pho
Even with Paul George, the Sixers are likely to get a lottery pick or at best a late-teens pick. I'm not going to trade for George just to hurt the Sixers slightly.
OK. So here's something no one is bringing up. Let's say we get our way and trade for PG13 without giving up anything but Clarkson, the 28th and cap fodder. Who goes to the bench? Cause by my count, we have 5 players (Randle, Ingram, Russell, Ball and George) with only 4 spots available. Are we looking to make another trade to free up some space? If so, who and for what? Also, what if we have to throw in Randle to sweeten the pot. George was PISSED at playing pf, so do we put Ingram there? I mean, that's a tad much. And this same "dilemma" presents itself if we wait and sign him as well. We'd still have all those guys.
I've given this thought. PG has to play PF. And I think he can do it. He might not like it, but in the end, winning cures everything.
I'd like to solve the problem of too many starters. But really you just trade a couple kids for another impact guy.
I said this one before and I'll say it again. If there's one thing PG hates, it's playing PF. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
I don't care much for other Laker sites, but I've got no beef with those guys. Let's try to be as civil as possible, eh?
If we have the opportunity to get PG & move other pieces of our core for additional Impact players, I'm all for it.. Ingram is the only one I'd try to hold on to.. Everyone else is tradable.
