https://sports.yahoo.com/video/woj-report-draft-lottery-order-120000042.html Again- another report, this one from Woj himself, saying that the Lakers don't have any pressure (don't feel any anyway) to trade for Paul George. Paul George has told them behind the scenes, I'm coming in 2018, don't stress about it, go get your team built up and ready for me when I get there.
Honestly, I'm not giving up Randle if I don't have to and I don't. I'll cross his extension bridge when I get there. Worst case scenario he costs me some cap space as an RFA in the summer. If there's no other bidders, I'm giving not giving up any of my high draft picks. They can just lose him in the summer, no problem to me.
This is why Larry retired I think. He saw what was coming and it was Magic on top of it. With all the energy coming from the Magic, Rob, Luke & Kobe collective Larry didn't stand a chance to do battle in the negotiating over George. He's done. I think he did really well professionally post his playing career.
:JuliusPumped 1: I can't wait to see Julius come pre-season games. He's getting that Barkley butt on him too. And his head should be better, just like Dlo due to the FO taking command of their futures. They're in play now. Who wants to be a Laker. I think Julius does.
Part of me wants PG13 this summer but the logical part says to wait as I believe that article is extremely accurate. Keep the youth (trade pieces) and bring in PG13. Then see what holes you need to fill. Lonzo Ball is the X factor. If he plays the way I think he will. PG13 will be signing at midnight and other players will have their agents calling us at midnight to get a spot on the team. The Lakers my friend have bottomed out! Now PG13 can't make that stupid All NBA team haha
I hate to give Bird credit, but he was Player of Year in college, NBA MVP (3X), Coach of the year, and Executive of the Year. He reached the height of every position possible.
I'm not sure if you kept listening to the Pincus podcast, but he did say that because of Randle's cap hold in the summer of 2018, they would likely have to jettison Randle or Clarkson to even fit George in 2018. I think you can move either of them pretty easy, but one will likely still be gone if we go the "Sign PG in Free Agency" route.
This. I listened to the rest after I posted the link to it. If I have to pick between Clarkson and Randle, the answer is honestly simple to me. He also mentioned if we found a way to jettison Deng and/or Mozgov that also clears up much of the room we'll need. The interesting part will be who and what we spend on this summer.
Actually if you read the bottom it gives you the vote totals. Paul George wasn't even close. He had only 40 "points". If he were guard eligible he might have been close to Derozan, but I'm pretty sure he's only a forward and Draymond was the lowest forward in with 134 "points".
If PG really did tell the Lakers to set things up, and that he's coming next summer, then yeah, you wait and don't trade anyone for him. Not making any of the All NBA teams really clinched it. Give the Pacers nothing, and wait.
Yay! But how in the world did someone leave both LeBron and Westbrook off their 1st team? And some knucklehead voted Kawhi to their 3rd team.
