If you're a team like the sixers.. getting a TRob,a first and Deng to teach the young guys and come off the bench isn't a bad deal. They can then package that first or try to find a piece with good potential. Giving up Julius is laughable at the moment just to shed Dengs contract.

Once again, Deng and Mozs contracts are not hurting anything right now,

The 28 is a starting point. Nobody would ask for Randle but we may have to include Tarik.

I tell TRob and Nance to both gain weight and don't look back.

I think the Nets or 76ers could be the best trade partners since both have to hit a min salary cap threshold.

I'd also throw in the Kings to that group ... they're going to need a SF and Center! Vlade time to help Magic the way he helped you!

It's getting a little stiff. Boston is in the ECF. They have the #1 pick and PG is looking to win.

Which one, PG looking to win or Boston in the ECF? Or all of it?

    Hahaha

Wait, this is in the context of acquiring PG and not our love for the C Bags right?

Boston will look at other options first, I absolutely guarantee it. They want Fultz first of all and second of all Hayward can be had with some financial shuffling. Why give up assets for Paul George who may or may not want to be there when they can approximate his value with Hayward (who the coach knows and likes) for just cash?

I was more talking about Randle being included to get away with not taking a lot of salary back. Reading my reply I realize that was not clear.

That'd work, but I'd rather eat short term salary than use Randle to dump bad money. If I have to include a second rounder or something or Tarik Black or something, I'm okay with that but Randle is still a valuable asset. Too valuable to just dump with cash.

The only argument I have for that is Boston is sort of in a "win now" type mode with IT, Horford and Bradley. And to be honest, PG kind of fits their team better. Their swarming wing defense works cause they have a very good defender at sf with Crowder. Hayward isn't a great defender. But George is elite.

On the other hand, they have Brooklyn's pick next season as well (Ainge should be jailed for assault against the Nets). Maybe they look at Fultz as their IT replacement in 4 years with Jaylen Brown as their Crowder replacement? The Nets pick next season will be high as well...The C Bags are in a crazy good position.

Fultz is absolutely their IT insurance, but I think they envision them working together. Also, Hayward is a very good defender. He's not as good as Paul George, no, but he's a very good defender still. The point though is why give up all these wonderful assets that Boston can waste when they can hoard all those assets and still get a player almost as good as George. They have no incentive to sell.

I agree with you. I'm just trying to think of reasons. I think I come back to them being able to get George by giving up some pieces while still having cap space to sign a really good free agent. Essentially Fultz, Crowder, cap filler for PG13 and (for the sake of argument) sign Griffin. So is PG-13 and Griffin better than Hayward, Fultz and Crowder.

But I am in agreement. I'd just sign Hayward and call it a day.

I think Fultz, Crowder, and Hayward are better honestly because they're cheaper and easier to move around. Do you think Thomas, Horford, George, and Griffin have a significantly better shot at beating Cleveland or Golden State than Thomas, Fultz, Hayward, Crawford, and Horford? I'm not positive, because the second team still has a ton of depth and the option to get better again through the draft.

The bottom line is Boston can beat us if they want to, but they're under no pressure to do so. Let's see what Hayward does this summer, but if he goes to Boston then I think they're going to be out of the George sweepstakes. Or heck maybe then they go even harder after George and we're completely screwed. That's possible too.
