They can have Clarkson, the Houston pick, and Deng or Mozgov. I'm not giving them a penny more. I'm honestly not that desperate for George. If he wants to come here via free agency next year, cool.
We will see. I'm not completely buying that we won't try to swing some deals if they present themselves.
I think we will try for some deals, but after getting the pick, we can now afford to wait. Ball can be our big "acquisition" for this summer to keep the LA fan base happy. Next summer we go after PG-13 in free agency. I think if we can get PG without giving up Ball, Ingram, or Russell, we will do it. If The Pacers insist on any of those 3, we would wait. We'll probably swing smaller deals to hopefully rid us of Deng or Mozgov. But I honestly think our lineup and depth chart is almost finished. Ball/Clarkson Russell/Nwaba Ingram/Brewer/Deng Randle/Nance Zu/Black/Mozgov
Don't be surprised to see more Mozgov this season. Just throwing it out there but I have a feeling he gets more time in 2017/2018.
Wouldn't surprise me. Especially if we use Black's contract to shed Deng. What is the deal with his contract? I know it's not guaranteed, but is there a date we have to guarantee it buy, meaning is there a day we have to trade it by to get another team cap relief?
I should clarify. Not all 3 in one deal. Ideally I would like to ship JR/JC/Deng Or DLo/Deng I prefer to keep DLo and see how he meshes with Ball. Wouldn't mind seeing DLo shoot 10 3's a game with kickouts by Ball.
Fair enough. At this point I prefer to wait on free agency for a possible crack at PG, but I can understand why someone would make those moves.
i think if he makes the all pro team we're gonna be forced to do a sign and trade for him..right? Doesn't mean we'll have to give the Pacers anything really good, cause we'd still be doing them a favor and giving him a piece. I really hope he doesn't make the all pro team and we wait for him to walk over here. I don't want to give up anything for him except Clarkson and fillers now.
How does it work to "get rid of" Deng or Moz? Say we trade Deng+Black+28, what do we get back to match salaries? An expiring contract that we buy out? Give me some examples, please. I really think moves like this will be the only movement this summer.
As long as the other team has the space to tackle those players on we're good(they can toss a second or a player we'd kick the tires on). I really like black as a small ball center for us,especially if we get someone like Ball.
If you attach the 28 to Deng, the other team just needs to be able to handle 17 million in cap space. We'd likely have to take back a short term salary as well. I'll work on examples this week.
Thanks real, missed being back in the groove on here! I think they both need to go back to the East. They know the personnel better there and it's a weaker conference.
It would likely be a lot of salary. We got the 27th pick for taking Lin's expiring 9 million dollar contract. What team is going to take 3 years of Deng for the 28th pick without sending back at least 3/4's of that salary back. It sounds nice for us, but if the situation was reversed, I'm not taking aback Deng (worthless player with 3 large years left) to get a late first rounder. Heck, I'd likely want to send back the exact same amount of salary of a slightly more effective player than Deng to get the 28th pick. To shed Deng, we'd have to likely send the 28th AND Randle.
