Well if PG is in his right mind, he won't quash these rumors prematurely. All NBA is still unknown, 70M is still 70M more you know. And we don't know, maybe the Pacers will move heaven and earth and acquire all players PG demands to keep him. Obviously, the Pacers' 1st option is to keep him. And they'll do everything in their powers that may please and convince PG to stay and Paul George putting an end to these rumors all at once ends that as well. If it's one thing, this continuing news of him hell bent helps us and us alone. It pressures Indy to work their butts off or reconsider trade options(with us) given the 'circumstances', and gives other interested teams something to ponder upon before putting out an offer to land him. I understand wanting out of Indy, and the allure of "coming home" to LA and all that comes with it; national media coverage, endorsement deals, LA lifestlye, etc. But, basketball-wise and the ability to win has to be in several other options before the Lakers, no? I mean, why not stay in the Leastern conf to dominate on one of the bubble teams (Wizards, c-bags) with Ledouche's window closing in a few years? Does the LA lifestlye and $$ really trump better options of winning? I don't think it does by a longshot. I think he knows he's getting the LA lifestyle/$$ AND the best chance at winning. How so? IMO, there's got to be some really exciting hush-hush plans behind the scenes bringing in PG and 1-2 more stars that he knows about.
Too bad Indy doesn't have the tall building, vertical "Stay" banner vender information Jeanie has. No way she gives that up with the Lakers wanting PG to come here.
All it takes is 2-3 stars and a great surrounding cast. Also what I've realized a couple days ago, teams like he Warriors are like the old Peyton Colts teams..steam roll people in regular season, but playoffs are a different animal. We can form our own super team decently quick too. Honestly PG is probably saying we're not gonna be effing around here and I'm leaving one way or another and I only want to go to LA. IMO..Randle and Deng who are both instantly better in the east and houstons first. That's it, if not that's cool and he'll outright walk over here. Teague-Ellis-Deng-Randle-Turner. Not that bad.

Yeah I'm not gonna waste my time trying to think of ways to get them better lol. Randle would instantly become a better player and a great fit next to Turner to be honest. They would need to package up Ellis,that first and another filler for a better 2 way SG cause Teague can score.

Oh I'm noticing, but what choice do they have? I'm not going to do them a favor. Nobody was doing us favors after Stern destroyed us. We've been a laughing stock for 3 years. I'll be "fair" and I'll give them three solid young talents. I could just give them the middle finger and wait until Paul comes here. Although, I think we've all discussed this: if Paul is going to come here, the Lakers need to find him a running mate. I don't think Paul is coming here to mess around with a bunch of kids. The Lakers have to find a trade or a FA who will help them some time before FA 2018... or they already know there's another FA or two that will join in 2018 with Paul...
If we do a mini trade for him and I think Randle&Clarkson is too much for a one year rental, with Houstons first they can try to find their own Jordan Clarkson... once again it's up to them to figure it out. Randle,Deng,maybe a good bench guy like Thomas Robinson and Houstons 1st. Then assuming we get #3 or better we add Russell and Clarkson into mix of getting another stud in here.
The end of your post is just about everything I'm gonna say. If they pull off a successful push for PG this off-season, it isn't gonna be half-baked. It'll be all out. Contracts and all may limit our options but they'll sure find a way to go around it. And I agree, PG will be then wearing that purple and gold with at least two other decent to great support. Otherwise, we'll be giving up pieces for nothing. One thing though and I've said it before, we'll be in the playoffs with a Laker PG, guaranteed. I'm not saying PG is that great, I'm saying the young talented players that we currently have just need that one solid alpha to make the team a cohesive unit and survive some close games or stretches in many games where, like they are, they play young. Let's say we go for PG via FA in 2018, or we are able to trade for him without giving up Ball, Russell, or Ingram, that leaves him playing PF. Is that ok? or does it mean we're for sure moving Russell or Ball? Or does Ingram come off the bench and get 35+ minutes at the 1,2,3 positions? There are so many options and good problems to have.

Durant is playing some 4 for the Warriors. Ingram is not ready for it yet, but a little more beef and he'll be a good fit there in a small ball oriented lineup.
Jamal Wilkes played the 4 in the 70s Warriors team. Silk was like 185 then lol. based on last season, Ingram can do it lol, I reiterate he go with the Diaw diet
