You're making him worse, making the team worse, lower the trade value of him if you want to trade him, making your team more a laughing stock. Now, tell me by what standard this recent approach to Russ is the right thing to do.

BTW, what do you mean when you say, "I'm not responsible for..."? If you're a coach, you directly reap the fruits of what you sow here.

It is what it is. I didn't think of anyone in particular, but clearly am not alone...

My opinion remains the same. That's not the way to mentor or raise children or young adults.

If someone chooses to take it as a shot, than it hit home and we disagree on methods and approaches. Such is life.

Even if we are trading him, I wonder if it's too late to put him back into the starting lineup.

It could further damage his trade value if he pouts. Or he could go back to playing 22-4-5.

I miss the days of debating over Kobe and the various issues he brought, but he was an All-time great...

We have sunk so far that we are debating a 21-year who probably did something to warrant the benching behind the scenes.

    Just get rid of him...

At this point, I just want Russell to show enough flash that we can send him and Clarkson with the Houston pick to Indy for George as opposed to the top 3 pick (if we keep it). Ball/George/Ingram/Randle/Zu That's my hope...my prayer...my dream. Actually, throw in Blake Griffin at pf and trade Randle for some depth in the backcourt...then I have my dream.

I wish media was the same in 1996 what it is today. The stories we would hear about Kobe's arrogance and stubbornness...

Probably would have wanted to rid of him too.

As soon as Kobe shot the air ball against Utah, I wanted to get rid of him.

In retrospect, those are some of Kobe's most career defining shots.

By missing those, it only fueled him to become better at taking those type of shots in those situations. He wasn't scared of missing the shot, he wanted to take it head on. But that's just the Mamba...

When I watched the post game show and heard him say this and way that he did, I was disappointed to say the least. The "It's Whatever" part is what is really damning to me. The next quote isn't any better.... Yikes

Kobe was arrogant but his effort and competitive drive was never questioned. And he stayed in the gym twice as long as any of our kids. Combine that with his natural gifts and it was quite obvious that he was going to be a very special player.

Wouldn't surprise me if he requested a trade out of here this summer.

Pelinka is probably already fielding offers for him and has a general sense around the league of his trade value...

The funny part is, I'm sure a good majority of Laker fans weren't.

I still find it strange that we're talking about raising kids when he's a legal adult getting paid 5 million dollars to play a sport for a living. At what point is he held responsible?

Are we really going to compare Kobe to Russell?

I'm not even asking for greatness from him right now. All I'm asking for is effort. At the end of the day, that's all I want from anybody anywhere, but especially from the players on my favorite sports team that I've followed my whole life. I never thought asking for effort would be met with such disdain from other fans.
