Just key note, if we do get the pick this yr, i would hope we either trade for pg or sign actual star type player cause next yr pick is unprotected and i dont see this current roster with ball or fultz being that much better next yr
in theory, i wouldn't care. you can only develop so many young players at a time, imo. and you can only pay three of them in their prime if they do pan out. if the lakers manage to keep this pick, it will be time to take stock of the ones on the roster and compare them to other possible options. you're right, though. adding a 19 year old rookie doesn't pull you out of the cellar. unless it's like, lebron. and these guys aren't lebron.
You are right. However, if Ball is the rookie the Lakers get, I'm telling you he's a game changer. Give him 2-3 seasons and you will get players flocking to the Lakers to play with him. Obviously we would have some decent players in PG13 and Ingram
yes, being top heavy in the NBA has proven to be more successful than having depth. Chances are zero 3 or 4 players "pan out" with regard to the fans expectations. But once they are eligible for a big extention, you really have to be sure that the guy pans out before you pay him big bucks. I think if the Lakers keep their pick and select another guy, then they must consider shipping guys for a good player. We cannot develop 10 young players.
http://bit.ly/2n6AVnT Anybody with E$PN Insider wanna be a mensch and summarize this PG article for us?
Pointless article really. Just went over all the scenarios that have been talked about repeatedly. No breaking new information. Essentially 5 scenarios: 1.) PG gets All NBA signs big deal to stay with Pacers 2.) Indy trades PG at draft for young players/picks 3.) Indy improves team with Teague resigning and using MLE to upgrade, PG stays since competitive 4.) Trade at next years deadline but lose leverage in negotiations 5.) Lose him in FA If that's all it takes to be an "Insider" writer I'm in the wrong profession.
Wow, that's a heck of a haul for Indiana. I hope we don't give up that much for a guy that says he won't be resigning in one year.
Absent some miracle finish, I think the boat has sailed on using Russell to get George. Probably will take something built around Ingram and Clarkson to get it done. I'm good with that for George.
DLo and Randle to Kings for Buddy Hield and Cauley Stein. Hield will be a perfect backcourt mate for Ball. Cauley stein will be perfect Tyson Chandler for Ball
WCS has a ceiling right around Tarik. A bit higher on D. Hield - I don't know. Hasn't shown defense or an ability to score close to either Randle or Russell.
